Just to let everyone know the '06 LF website is up with info on all the new gear and also online purchasing ability now if you prefer.
I have been trying some of the new stuff and will review shortly in the review section.
They have put a lot of thought into their range this year.
It's for people who don't have a local supplier and still want the
gear. Still good prices if you compare say the 12m menace and m80 to other kites around.
Liquid force have good marketing and product, but in my experience poor product back up. I have spectrum 2 17m and 12m bought last Xmas. My first issue occurred when they turned up without the spider or 5th line, contrary to KBM adverts. I got my local shop to chase this up and they got them but Liquid force wanted to charge extra. The shop backed me and picked up the tab. After last summer, and some minor flying during winter, I burst the 12m bladder several weeks ago due to some sand. Had it repaired, but wanted a new bladder, as I didn't enjoy the swim. Again the shop chased this up to be told that no 12m bladders exist in Oz, and I'd need to order one from the states. This is crap! The 12m must be the most popular size, and therfore most likley to have spares. Bottom line, is a well priced kite is now very expensive one. Unfortunately this will be my first and last LF purchase.
do you think it is LF to blame or your shop for selling the products without being able to back it up?
in west Jason has backed us up with any problems that have encountered with the products.
i think he is flat out just keeping simon on the water...
but he is still out there every day.
only thing we hav found is the kites are normally released waaay after they say so, but then they say rome wasnt built in a day...
The shop I've been dealing with for over 10 years for most of my surf and windsurf gear, and has always been good to deal with and backed what they sell. I haven't named them only because it's not their complaint. They've offered to source a bladder thruogh a custom maker, but I've held off for now as they repaired it. Re the original items, I was in the shop when they chased after the lines and spider system. What happened was that the kites had come out without it, contrary to the adverts. So when they back ordered them when I picked the kites up, LF then wanted to charge me for them. Pretty rough especially when I was one of the early buyers of these kites and bought 2 at once.
Now you have the ability to email them direct with all your woes and
I'm sure they will bend over backwards to help you out.
In my experience, they have had the best backup service of any brand in oz.
Camsan I am the Australian Liquid Force importer and I would like to respond to your post in order to defend myself...
You have not mentioned the retailer involved so I am flying a little blind here
1. Yes Spectrum 2 kites were supplied minus spider inflation initially. These were all later made available at no charge to all kite owners and retailers to retro fit to any Spectrum 2 kites. We have never charged any retailers or kite owners for spider inflation systems....if we did in error it was simply an accounting mistake, they were never meant to be a ite to be charged
2. We have always had 12m leading edge bladders in stock but we did momentarily run out a few weeks ago....we have more due in next week, if you still need one e-mail me and let me know
We always do our best to look after our customers - it is obviously in our own interest to do so
Cheers
Thank you Flyer, I'll email you re getting a bladder direct. It sounds like my experiences might improve.
