Hey guys.
I know this is possible, but it depends on what type of bar it is, how the depower systems works, etc.
However, is it just a matter of detaching the 5th line from the end of the system (the section that connects to the kite), and keeping the rest of the 5th line as a "depower line" for quick-release to continue working? Or is there more to it than that?
Would rather hear from people that have actually done this (shop owners, repairers, etc) than couch-commentators with no actual idea of the facts other than the obvious risks doing such a change. And of course feel free to red-thumb me peeps.
Cheers
... something to to keep in mind, from memory the Naish bar has a high Y point and the Cab has a low Y point (Y point is where the height at which the front lines split). This will put different pressures on the kite and basically not work too well, as in if you put high Y on Cab the kite will be pinched in (icecream cone effect). Tried many experiments over the years and found, put the original intended bar on the kite makes it work best.
I recommend you mimic the original bar for best results.

Just wrap one of the lines around the bar if you don't need it ;)
Death!
Yeah thanks for that tip. Yes you are correct, the bar has a high end Y point. I'll have to shift that further down towards the bar like you suggested.
The reason I want to play with this bar is the "smart loop" or chicken loop it has. One of the best I've seen on most bars, excluding all the new systems that came out last year and now of course, and $$$. I can't afford too much these days with high cost of insurance, living, etc so I am trying to make the most out of what I have.
Cheers
