Rider: Weight,Level, intermediate: Surf
Weather: ?-? knots
Satisfaction: 10/10
Disclosure: None just test & buy what I like and can afford eg I can't go out and buy 3/4/ Kites every year or so.
My Comments: I have the 8m & 10m Reo's, I am 85kg ride a 134 twin tip & a North 5'10" Wam nice Board I can recommend them too.
I am using a core gt 2010 bar with the Reo's It works really well, I like the look of the new Core bar love the untwisting line swivel thing.
Now to the Reo's Mine does not fall out of the sky, I was on flat water today on the 10m 15kt jumped just as good as other kites Ive had and used( bigger Jumps than I ever expected) you can feel the kite where ever it is, in the waves did what it was supposed to do, nice light to medium bar pressure turns quick, Simply Just Love my Reo's My Recomendation is if you haven't tried one just do it! I have a mate that just got a 2012 North 12m Rebel ripped in two 2nd time out a manufacture flaw was Identified probably a one off, for the bagger's theres some food! His dealer is going to replace it no Probs
Five smiley faces I am very happy!

Hi Col, glad you're stoked on the REOs. Bear in mind though that they are designed to flag onto one front line whereas the core bar is designed for kites with pulleys and long bridles that flag onto both front lines. For basic depower you'll be fine but I'm not sure that you'll get 100% flagging by throwing the REOs onto both front lines as the bridles aren't designed that way. I'm sure Darren at AKS can clarify (or even suggest a mod to the bar?) as he sells both brands.

Happy kiting

Yeh I will look into that and make the change as required still the core swivel bit below the bar is great to use iam sure Darren will clarify that even though I bought both Reos from Jason West Oz kites at the time Ozone bars were not available I will be out there again today wind looks good but down south here it's grey over cast and drizzle rain looks crap but winds good!

All manufacturers have there little faults.Saw a Reo 2 weeks ago, Had been pumped up 2 times never crashed. It completely exploded the leading edge, Fully covered under warranty. There is always a kite or 2 that fail from all kite companies!

Hi ColD,

Yep, the Core Bar runs a mini 5th, or virtual fifth line safety flagging system which required long bridles and pulleys to effect a complete emergency flag out.

The Reo will fly on both front lines although hugely limited on power, but it will continue to fly and could be a problem if a strong squall were to come through or you have to ditch your kite in the surf. More of a problem is if you happen to connect with another kiter on the water and you need to ditch your power in an emergency, it can't be done.

You will be able to retrofit the the Core Bar by inserting a solid metal ring at the end of the strong yellow single line at the point where the two front lines begin. Simply attach the ring to the yellow line, then connect the red bungee line to a smaller ring that wont pass through the larger ring, connect one front flying line to the smaller ring and pass the front flying line through the larger ring. This will be the flagging line. Attach the other front line to the larger ring and Bob's your aunty.

You could grab a mickey mouse ears tri ring piece and use that to prevent any wear on the flagging pieces and it should give you Core goodness mixes with Reo ecstacy!

Ask Jase to show you how to do it, or call in and see us if he can't help and we can help you.

PS. Sweet kites eh?
