Him, I just bought a go pro hero 3 but is it compatible with the camrig fin mount or new pre order line mount? It just says on their website and on all the website I've been that it I compatible with go pro 2. Does anyone knows?

The mounts share the same fitting between models, they will fit.

The current fin mount will not fit the new housing, but the line mount does fit the GoPro3 housing. I've got a gopro3 and it fits everything except the line mount.

I sell the GoPro stuf, and import the line and fin mounts, and also have a GoPro3 so I can assure you that the Camrig finmount does not fit with a GoPro3 housing.
BUT with a bit of dremel work and some foam it could be made to fit, although we have none in stock now.

The Camrig line mount that fits GoPro 1 & 2 cameras absolutely does fit the GoPro 3 camera housing.

I contacted the guy that made the original board mount and he is working on the new size for the 3. I have the old and it does not fit, too loose. I then stuck on a mount on my board and security strap and floaty back door on the back of the Gopro, works great.
I have the line mount and it is totally compatible. One thing I will say is that the new Gopro 3 case fitting is slightly thicker than Hero 2. Gopro deny this but it is ever so slightly thicker. Not a problem but interesting.

Try a leading edge mount too. Great pics. See Dejavugraham on YouTube. Made mine out of Ski Velcro straps and brass screw tighteners with Gopro fitting.

Remote is helpfully too, although I miss the wrist strap, the new 3 Black does not provide.

The old line mount fits, but the new one with the bright green inserts to hold the lines, does not fit, I doubt you will find a new, older version line mount anywhere. The new one that will fit the GP3 should be available soon.

Any up dates on the availability of the CAMRIG with the green line inserts that suits the GoPro3 will be available

Just placed our order for some, they are finishing manufacturing as we speak... I'd estimate them to be here in 2-3 weeks? Keep an eye on the kitepower website, will be online for pre-order today.

Cheers,

Hey mate, I want to pre-order one, but before I do as I can't make out from any pictures will the new hero3 line mount film you in landscape or will the camera be on its side and record in portrait? Cheers

If you have a look at CAMRIG's FB page there is a shot of one set up. It looks as if it will shoot in Portrait.

Hmm but then in all there videos it is in landscape..? Are they taking it in 1080p then cutting out a 720p image/video so it looks like landscape?

Actually I guess when you have the kite down at 45 it will film in the correct orientation..

All depends on the angle of your kite :)

Found that the camrig makes the viewer in video mode a little seasick. With the mount at the V at the top of the safety on a cabrinha the camera bounces ever so slightly. It also end up flipping the view by 180 degrees on alternate tacks. For me the best results have been in photo mode set to 30 second frequency.

Do you think that I would be able to make this work on a five line north setup?. I'm thinking off trying to connect using the centre line and the red fifth line, both lines are taut when flying the kite

Not sure how it would work with the North setup. The Cabrinha setup is perfect as it sits at the bottom of where the front lines vee out which stops it dropping down and does not impact on the safety system at all.
