My Comments:
I have just bought the 10.5 core kite from Darren AKS.First of all thanks Darren the service was fantatic very helpful.
I weigh 88 kg and ride a 138 airrush switch.I have been kiting for nearly 2 years.
In the last year I have only flown the 10 & 12 m North Rhino which I have been very pleased with but after seeing the core kite at kitestock, I had to have one.
Deciding on the size was the problem as at the moment I can only afford one kite. After talking to Darren I decided on the 10.5.
The trial was this morning at Point Walter very light winds 13 to 16 knots max no wind in sight for a week I had to give it a go.
First impression, very easy to set up only 4 lines to care about .Once in the air I had to use maximum power but the feel on the beach was good, very responsive.
In this wind I would normally be on my 12 m Rhino and looking around the 12 was the most popular kite, so my expectations were not high.
To my surprise the grunt of the kite was quite amazing it got me up and going with ease and felt very comfortable.Turning the kite was the surprise it turned so quick even on my first jump the kite was so far behind in the air but with a small adjustment the kite was back in the right place for landing. The depower and power straps were easy to use while kiting and all safety & quick release worked very well.Launching the kite from the water surprised me it was very hard to keep it in the water the auto relaunch worked well .I was happy not to have the long 5th line like the Rhino which when the kite inverts you have to self rescue the short 5th line does not have that problem
The speed of the kite will take a little adjusting to but it was a very exciting kite to fly and i'm very happy I bought it. What you get for your money will take some beating. My next kite will be the core 7m for waves and stronger winds. Here's to better winds.
