Sup, im looking at getting into some unhooked riding and loops etc, not into wave riding at all, more freeride and want to get into freestyle
I ride in VERY gusty conditions and am not looking for a full C kite as i need a reasonable amount of depower.

Its very difficult for me to demo kites, iv had to buy most so far without demoing them. ATM im riding North Fuses.
Iv been looking at these two kites and they seem quite similar, both with very good reviews.
Has anyone tried them both and can comment on their differences, pros and cons etc

cheers

c4 is a great kite for freestyle, although it has alot less depower than a fuel. better relaunch but.

There is no way a Fuel has more de-power than the C4. He must have meant less de-power than the Bandit 4.

C4 has a ton of depower, loads more than a fuel. but probably less than a bandit. C4 is an awsome kite for all riding styles and is super simple with no pulleys and a tiny bridle.

I want to be able to ride in winds from 12-30 knts. Would say a 12m and 9m C4 be able to handle that then?

* im 81kg and ride a 137TT in light wind and a 132TT in heavier wind

You will need two kites for a range between 12 - 30 knots but I don't think the 12m will get you going comfortably at 12 knots better off just buying an 11m and go out in 14-28 knots. The C4 is a popular kite with many good reviews however I prefer the lively feel, speed and punchy power of the 10m Vegas it will get you going from 14-28 knots.

I would have thought 13, 9 c4's would cover that range and have a good overlap. c4's don't have the best low end but have an excellent high end

i really dont like kites bigger than a 12 because they just no fun for me.

The other day i was riding very close to a 12 C4 with my 12 Fuse, wind was very light and we were sort of gust riding but the bottom ends seemed very similar which surprised me because the fuse is supposed to be pretty powerful although iv never tested it with a metre.(i was on my smaller board though)

maybe get a bandit then, i've tried both and bandit has alot more low end grunt. or maybe bandit 12 and c4 9. best of both. and the 9 meter c4 will take u up to 35-36 knots too. excellent high end

Hey Sustan,

I was looking at up grading this year and the C4 and the Bandit were my two top picks......I have only been a Bandit fanboy as I like the clean bar and 4-line setup...

I did decided to go with the B4 as the bar/line setup is so simple and the new bar has taken it to the next level. The B4 is a little less grunty than the Dos so if you are 81Kgs the 11 will be a great size but at around 26 knots it might get a bit overpowered but depends on your riding style and if you like to be on the edge..........maybe a smaller board but the trend to boards smaller than 130 for your weight seems to be dying off.

The C4 has a wicked "max flow" system and they are also very well made............for me it came down to the bar........and the three struts this kite is really light..... it blows off the beach if you don't pack it down.............

If your in SA I have heard that Fone has a good dealer presence and they are a pleasure to deal with.....I can't comment for Ozone "sorry" so that is also worth taking into consideration.......

At the end of the day they are both great choices, the best thing to do is Demo...Demo and then all you have to do is pick your quiver.... ;)

Thanks for the input
F-One definitely has grown big time here in SA and alot of good reviews on it, most guys use them on the waves though.
Ozone is not big at all where i kite (dont know about Cape Town though). The 12m i mentioned in my previous post was the first and only Ozone iv seen and i really liked the shape, seemed very stable and was able to still get some decent lift while underpowered. before i left i went to check the kite out properly and was surprised how well made it was.

I think i will just have to try demo them both :)
