I have just got a DYNABAR and have a few questions, apparentley it is the next model up from the v7. I was sold a large as my harness size is a large but this thing is about 120mm longer than the original bar that came on the harness and wondering if i have been sold an extra large?
Also i am going to try it using the rope first but the Dyna bar also came with bar and a u bolt that has maching holes on the dynabar in the centre, does anyone know what this ubolt is for as the bar dosnt come with any instructions which i think is pisspoor for $160 and also considering it comes with a bag full of parts.
Any help on what works best with this bar would be great. Thanks

The u bolt is if you want to use a fixed hook. If you are going to use the rope first, then slide the elastic ends into the holes with the sloe. Put the rope ends into the holes below that after putting it through the sliding hook. Then put the hoop in the elastic over the peg on the hook.

The lack of instructions was pretty surprising to me as well. There are a couple of good vids on Vimeo though where he goes through the different configurations. I left all the stainless bars and loops ff and just went the dynema and bungy config, works well for me. I'm bigger as well so had to step on the back plate to flatten it out a bit so it stopped digging into my hips.

Not sure about the latest model but with the V7 you get the bar option that you choose, I.e. freeride or surf, the rope and a bag of spare plastic bits for the hook as they tend to wear out over time.

I am 180 cm and 80 kg and the smaller bar size was the best fit for me on my large dakine harness. The large bar just seems way too big. The red ball is a quick release for the rope option. Not sure why you would need it but I have seem some people use the rope to connect their kite leash.

I have been using the V7 with the freeride bar (I have removed the rope for the moment) for about 2 months now and loving it especially toeside on the surfboard. I don't even notice the hook moving anymore. I have had no issues on the TT with hook staying in the centre position.

Hi Smithy
thanks for that info i have only used dynabar twice, second time today, i have been using the rope as thats how it came so thought i would try that, and yes toeside i seem to be able to go upwind alot better, the rope does seem to pull out a long way from the bar when its in the centre and gives me the **s a bit when riding heelside as it sits about 60mm right of centre. Has the bar you use got that bend in the middle to locate roller in the centre or is it a constant contour?Mine had no spare rollers or fixed hook or bar with with bend in the middle but have rang shop and they said they will give them to me.

I ordered the freeride version so it came with the bar with the pronounced center kink or bend. The bar was not fitted when it was supplied just the rope fitted. Others I have spoken too who are using the rope have said they like the smooooth movement but have had to re-tie the knot to shorten the rope.

I got the freeride version as well, which came with the solid full width bar with kink, the loop, and the dynema option. Pretty happy with the dynema so haven't tried the others. Didn't bother shortening the rope either but I have got pretty long arms. If its out too far means I should probably depower. The dynabar and a seat harness are the ultimate in comfy riding if you ask me.

yeah i have been thinking of a seat waist harness as even with dynabar i still get some gramping on my lower R/H side of my back, i have had seat/waist before for wind surfing and it makes me look like i am wearing a nappy

Yeah there is no escaping the nappy look but my ****house kitesurfing distracts people enough that they probably don't notice

Just out of interest has anyone seen one the Mystic asymmetrical wave harnesses or know who is selling them?
