Rider: 75kg ,Level intermediate
Style: Freeriding, Wake, Freestyle
Weather: 13-30 knots

Need some input: Been reading about the grunt of the DOS- I myself ride a 12M Dos and LOVE IT! Been riding a 08 9M helix as my smaller kite and think it's time to step up to the DOS.
What do you guys recommend DOS 8 & 12 quiver or 9 & 12 quiver?
Anyone with some experience with the 8 or 9 dos?

The 8m is the go. you still get a lot of overlap between the 2 kites and you can use the 8m 16-35kts+. The 9m to me feels gruntier similar to the 10m and would suit lighter riders wanting a one kite quiver. or 14-9m quiver. I just love the way the 8m feels and handles and unhooking is awsome up to around the 27kt mark.

I think the 9m would be way too big for 30knots. I'm 75kg and the 9 is good at 18-22knots with a few short larger gusts. at 20-25knots and a few bigger gusts i'm feeling over cooked on a 9, try a 7m for the stronger winds maybe or if there's not a lot of 25-30knot days an 8

9m2 is to big so perhaps the 8m2 will be the kite but i also think that the 7m2 can be a option. The 7m2 does have a great lowend and i still think you will have overlap with the 12m2

For a freestyle kite go with a Naish Torch smaller size (7-9m2). With Torch you never can go wrong, this kite has been in every hardcore kitesurfer's kitequiver for ages. Kevin Langeree, Alex Pastor, Sam Light etc etc. All doing sick moves all day long. With a pure C-kite you can feel what a real kiteloop means. Those hybrid, sle loops are a joke compared to C-kite raw power.

Have ridden bow (airush, cabrinha), hybrids (Ozone) sle's -> when it comes to freestyle there is nothing like a C kite. I ride small sizes torch (6,8,9) m2.

If you really look for a intermediate kite then Torch is the way to go.

I'm 80 kg and have the 9-12 combo and found that there is a large overlap. If the wind gives me a consistant 18+ knots then the 9 comes out. Anything above 27-28 knots sometimes isnt so enjoyable. If I could make my choices again I would go the 8-12 combo especially if you are 75kgs.
If you think the 12 is nice then wait until you get an 8 or nine it will really impress you.

I'm 72kgs and have ridden all three, found I use the 12 the most out of these three, probally due to having to kite in lighter winds most of the time. You will definantly get more top end out of the 8. So really it depends on when you want to use it and if your conditions are gusty or not [15-25 or 25-30 ] if the lows in the gusts are too low and your going up wind small can be a problem. Where as if your in a river mouth or doing a down winder smaller is a lot of fun. Hope this helps ring me or email if you want more info.
HAVE FUN
