Looking at buying a new kite (4 line)wanting to ride between surf board and twin tip.surf only really around Melbourne not actuall wave just rough choppy water mainly.like north kites and cabrinha.what kite do people recommend for bit of everything free ride/freestyle/small wave
Try Airush Lithium I'd say. Or the Airush Wave. Haven't really flown any other Kites, so I can not compare.
Most 3 strut delta/c/hybrids.
Get a short bridle so it doesn't wrap around itself if it gets dropped In the surf
North's do-everything kite is the rebel
Which us obviously a 5-liner
Hilarious amount of fun when you put this thing down in the surf and it rolls over on itself and gets wrapped in the 5th
The dice is a great kite to play in the surfy stuff.
Cab makes some nice gear but I haven't ridden any, so can't say too much
Get some demos if you can
In the North range the best contender for the "do it all" is the EVO great at big boost, unhooking, surf and just freeriding i recommend you give on a demo
I have to agree with Scanno88, Just Got a 2015 North Evo 11 Metre. I have been riding north rebels since 2009. I was going to get a Naish Pivot but...
I rode the North Evo and its hands down a great kite. I am suprised North dont market this kite more its a very good kite does everything.
The one thing it does do is BOOOOST, Its a really fun kite, give it a crack. No demos in Melbourne though.

That's a good tip HG. I've heard that the Evo 11mt is like a 12 or 13mt kite almost akin to light wind riding. Did you notice that too or are they full of it?
F. One bandit will do everything
Second that, its great for general kiteboarding on flat water and chop and also excels in the waves.

gkawo, I have only had it outnin a very gusty Westerly. But as they say it can handle anything.
Even when it gets windier it just says "bring it on". Very stable and not bad in light wind.
I will give a review soon. I am looking forward to using with a surfbaord though.
Yeah mate trying to decide between or pivot or Evo.just out of curiosity what weight are u?im 80 kg and was thinking 11m.also where did u buy from?cheers

I hate the kiteloops with the pivot, stuff all power!
Im 80kgs to found the 12m a perfect size and ive Got two Evos for sale 2013 12M and 2014 9m just saying... ![]()

Third that, have even seen them used as shower curtains in Kitesurfari and window curtains in Morocco! Now that's flexibility!
p.s. Does everything!
Pivot
Absolutely
Today again had a blast on my 8m. Others riding 10 or 12 and I was out jumping them on my twin tip . Not a pure wave kite but it sure has improved my wave riding because of it's nice drift..

Speedy, I am 90kg and the 11m Evo is OK. I prefer a faster moving kite, If its light wind I would take out a surfboard, nugget, Heavy take out a high wind surfboard or tt.
Try the Pivot its a great kite, Kite Republic are the best for demos in Melbourne for both Naish and North. The Pivots Low end is prety bloody good. I just did not like the bar and the kite does not rip you off the water like the evo can.
If Naish had above the bar depower and were not well over $2200 kite and bar 11metre I would purchase. I understand the Aus dollar is bad now.
I got a insanely good deal from KBL Kiteboarding in Sydney. I guess I lucked on them wanting to get rid of stock, as they said they are getting in 2016 new arrivals in the next 3 months.
Speedy just go and demo a few kites, kites at the moment are very well priced at the end of the season.
worth checking out the RPM,
I agree with the above regarding airush lithium, has huge range, ive flown in waves and boosts to the moon not as good to unhook as others but there is always a trade off with these kites, go and get a demo of all mentioned and you should be in good shape.

Yep, pulls like a 16 year old and cooks me eggs and bacon in the morning ![]()
I heard the 9m pulls like a truck
But seriously i have been reading the pivot reviews and man that seems like a bandwagon I want in on, you should check it out.

Do them slower then theres plenty :)
Naish Pivot is the best all round kite I personally have ever flown. I have the 7, 9, and 11m.
