Keen on a new freestyle/wakestyle board and preferring one of these. Ive done the forum search. My question is do people think the gambler is worth the additional cost or are the differences too minor to worry about? Id like to go the north but thinking its better to get the custom to save a few hundred bucks (which is what it looks like once you pay extra for straps).

Thanks

The Custom has a lot more rocker, is stiffer, and has more bottom shape. Depends on what you're after but I'd go the more wakestyle focused Custom but that's just me.

Yo o if you can give the xenon laluz ,and shinn monk a run alongside the custom, I've ridden the 3 , regardless of cost id chose the monk and laluz ahead.of the custom, but different boards suit different riders

^^^ Not sure why you'd bring freeride boards into a wakestyle discussion - not bagging them, just saying that for someone who's looking for the progressive pop that rockered stiff boards provide, the laluz and monk will be irrelevant.

The custom isn't everyone's cup of tea, but for those who like a bit of rocker and stiffness it's a machine. I used to ride a custom and am now on a 50fifty (which I prefer slightly), but if the 50 wasn't available I'd happily go back to a custom.

Yo djdojo, sorry didn't know the custom was a designated, wakestyle board, you talk of pop the monk has plenty if you charge it up, with the luxury of a soft landing, I've also seen the laluz and infra, ridden with boots , if you downsize this can also give you some extra stiffness, I normally ride a 135 , but if the condition dictated it I used to get on a 128, but id say your more qualified in this department than me,cheers

The Custom is no where as stiff as the Gambler. The Custom is a limp noodle.Great shape & rocker but to much flex.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like some different opinions on which is stiffer. Rocker is ok as long as it doesn't sacrifice all ability to get back upwind I guess. Definitely looking to generate pop though.
