Hey guys,

i?m looking for a lightwind kite, that offers good power for unhooking in lighter winds. I?m 190 cm and 86 kg. My board is a Underground Styx from 2011, which starts very early, compared to boards with the same size, due to wide tips, a flat rocker (2,8 cm). I?m happy with it.

My idea is to go for a three kites quiver. In the past always had just two kite (9 & 12 RPMs). So i got a 10m? RPM from 2012 and want to get a smaller and bigger one, too. I found a cheap Envy from 2011, which is in really good condition. But you won?t good reviews on the net, most are written by company, which will be "paid" for giving a good review ;).

Anyone flown a 15 meter Envy from 2011? Should be taken in wind of 12-17 Knotes with my UG Styx, is it realistic? How does this big bay behave for wakestyle? Would be nice to get some opionions. Bar pressure? How fast is it? Or should i go for a 12m?, which seems to be too close to my 10m? RPM. :(

I don't know about the envy 2011. I have flown envy 10 meter 2013 and it has a lot of power. My light wind kite is a 12 meter LF NRG 2013 plus 134x47 cm Oxygen Epic board. I can kite from 10 knotts.

Too bad. Its hard to find information about this kite. I just found this test on "SBCKiteboard". Does anyone know, how indepented this mag is? Most mags will write good review due to the money a kite brand is paying for advertisement Any Idea?

spoke to a mate in the uk ex north r&d hes rode the envy 2 reckons youd be lucky at 12 knts maybe 15 and itd come alive, also mentioned the bars depower is a pain being under bar, also very sticky cleat when trying to power or depower under a bit of bar pressure, said it was of great construction and a nice kite , imo the would be a few kites you should have a look at in this department,

Thanks man. Yesterday i bought it. I have to admit i wasn?t sure, if it will be a good decision to buy a kite, i?ve never tried before. The Maxflow system just rocks. I pumped my kite so fast, really nice. On the water the kite felt immediately good. No problems with the way it was fyling. I was happy so far. In the beginning we?d around 13/14 knots and i was able to go upwind with my 135 Styx at 86 kg bodyweight, but there were not enough power for unhooking. So for lighter wind i definitely need a lightwind board! When the wind picked up to 16 knots the kite was really powerful and what i didn?t expected the envy had a really good release! When the wind were gusting 20 Knots, i was still able to hold the kite without any problems. Really impressing!

As i?ve read somewhere else, sometimes it a bit harder to relauch it (compered to the rpm, with goes out of the water super fast). Yes it is, but i works fine, too. After the first session, i?ve to say it was a good deal and it will fits perfectly to my 10m? RPM. I?d say with a normal freestyleboard of 135x41 i?ll be able to go out in 12-19 knots.

Any question? Feel free to ask.

All my Raley to blind worked well and also the bar pressure was perfect! On jump transition i was ab

m8, glad your happy with your kite, I know this is too late but if you can get a get a demo of the Epic Infinity V3, unbelievable boost, they drift good for surfing, turn like a wave kite,
I have the V2 and demo'd the V3. The V2 is a great kite but after flying the V3, I have been putting away the pennys for this one.
Let us know how you go.
Cheers

I used to own a 15m envy. Good kite for heavy beginners. Lots of grunt to get you up. These kites are a low aspect driven kite. they get you up and going but at a low upwind angle. I ended up down wind walking back up with a heavy pull walk of shame. Most newer lite wind kites have a higher aspect and lighter feel. Don't be afraid of H.A. kite like a 2012 ozone edge or later. They are not the wild thing most peaple think they are.
