Anybody help me with this dilemna,please!!
My style is mainly freeride but like boosting lofty jumps, grabs and loops. also surf with a starpless surfboard. Also i want good quality from a kite.
Can anyone help me out, please!
"Dilemma" literally means a situation in which one is forced to choose betwen two unfavourable options.
Now I can't comment on either of the kites you mention but if they do present a dilemma I can offer a third way (and some mixed metaphors for the politically inclined).
Based on your requirements the Ozone C4 should definitely be on your list. High performance yet forgiving freeride/style and impeccable construction. Sizes available in 1m increments so quiver building is easy.
I had Obsessions in 2009 and 2010. Definately a better booster than the RPM.
For loops it is good too, but don't know about the RPM
The 2010 model was very high quality - not problems whatsoever.
I sell RPM's so beware...... [}:)]
But IMO the RPM represents true crossover characterists not many others can back up with design & set-up options.
When you throw strapless surfing in with your free-ride requirements what you are asking for is a kite that does pretty much everything kites can do.
The RPM has a wake setting for all your freestyle type stuff jumps etc; and including great unhooking performance for full on free-style (but not as desirable for freestyle exclusives). It also has a freeride setting which is perfect for your surfing and downwinder styles.
Lots of great kites out there (inc the Obsession) but anyone with intermediate skills wanting it 'all' then have a look at the RPM.
