Hi Peeps,

I was asked earlier today about the differences between these two kites and had a long hard think about both kites. I started typing and was surprised at how much I ended up writing. Sort of similar, but loads of subtle differences which make all the differences.

I hope this helps

here's a question for you guys.

What is the better gust munching storm kite? say 25-45 knots. 6m cat or 6m reo?

ps in these conditions i'm in house sized waves and white wash riding a twin tip.

So i want a kite that will stay upwind in 20 knots if possible but not kill me in 45 knot gusts. it needs to be able to boost over 8foot plus white wash, surf and outrun monster waves.

ps currently using at 09 8m light for these conditions. its good to 35 knots but super powered 35-40 andsilly from the 40-45 knot bracket.

Sounds like a fun place to kite or to watch some super hangtime!

Its the most consistant wave spot in the sothern hemisphere!! When those conditions present themselfs is truely fantastic or terrifying depending on your skill level!

last year i was terrified..... this year its Fan****ingtastic.

Good review & comparison, however funny to suddenly a few negatives of the catalyst come out now that there is another kite that addresses them.

Hey andrewm,

Of course when something is the latest in design, it has no superior comparison, and the deficiencies aren't evident until the next newer model appears and makes them more obvious. Simple really.

Once upon a time, the T model Ford was the best car ever and the Wipika Freeair 2 line kite was the best kite ever showing the deficiencies of the Wipika Classic ......

What do you mean "önce upon a time"

Im just heading down the beach in my T model Ford and my Wipika Freeair 2 liner is on the back seat.

I can post a reveiw of them both if you like.

One you can control the power and the other you cant control the power.
