ok so I got home from work.
slid into my favorate chair and slid my feet into the new sync footstrap / binding
from now on I will be calling the slippers.

The only way for me to explain the feeling I get from the slippers is
to say its like gloves for your feet.
I may just get some to walk around town in instead of some flip flops for summer as they are so comfy. grin
Because you can adjust them even out in the water you can have them loose or tight all just from pulling on the teflon cable.
Im stoked they come with all the cab boards this year
good work cab keep it up push the limits.
I cant wait to get this bad boy into the water.
Bring me my summer bitches.
p.s my weight is Phat and my coq size is massive.
And I am a magnificent rider.[}:)]

The Professor is on the money with his comments on the cabrinha "slippers". Got to ride my new Caliber 130 last weekend and i'm totally stoked with it. The board has heaps of pop, soft riding but still fast through the water and the Professor has summed it up perfectly on the foot straps, you have to try them.
Now, where's that wind gone so i can get back out there.

Yep I Agree,
The Syncs are insane... I thought the underground pads were nice - The Cab's are AWESOME in comparison.

Calibre 130 has tooooons of pop, pretty steep rockerline for a freestyle board though... It looks really solid through the centre too, nice and thick middle section with sharp rails, and then it just tapers down on the tips. Channels smooth out anything resembling a ripple on the water, butter smooth
and the graphics are sexy - I've nicknamed mine Zoe, after Elmo's Orange Sister...

Looking at getting the new Sync bindings, but our shop only has the Medium size and I'm size 10 feet. I find though if you slip your foot right in to have your toes just over what appears to be a ridge for the toes, then the binding's top back edge is hard up against the top and front of my foot.
Is the medium the right size for me?
Should your toes grip over onto the footpad toe ridge?

Size 10 shoe means you would be the standard or large size in the Syncs, but you could also fit into the smalls.
We've got plenty of small in stock and plenty more on the way, but have to say that with my size 8-9 foot, my toes will never sit over the toe rail, I think you need monster size 12 or bigger to fit the pad toe ridge.
The Sync lace can be adjusted so perfectly that I don't even notice not having the toe ridge. I find I can ride the caliber as fast as, and really rate that board in chop, so smooth and goes upwind easy too.

There are only two sizes in Sync straps and one size in the pads. Most of the early shipped (current stocks) of boards in dealers were the large size sync straps.

Can anyone comment on how the Caliber and or Prodigy compares to any of these: Recoil Comp, Jaime Pro, Thorn, NHP (666), Cardboards tempo, Flx.

I've demoed a couple of the above and plan to demo all. Haven't been able to demo either of the Cabrinha boards yet though. Im after a board that handles chop, is good up wind, good pop, early planning and is light. I also want it to be shorter than my previous board (140) but how much shorter im not sure of until i try. I'm always riding at beaches but not worried too much about riding waves with it. got a surfboard for that. All help appreciated.

Prodigy is Real Flexy... Flat bottom so its snappy and light under your feet, Plus its yellow... I dont like yellow lol... Take an FLX over the Prodigy... Take a calibre over the FLX...

My Demo board is for sale too btw if your interested - 130 Calibre with the Large size syncs...

Come to the demo day at Dolls Point this weekend, 1/2 November, Prodigy/Caliber/Custom and FLX on demo. (those cab boards are always available for demo)

A word of warning for anyone with a size US 13 foot or larger. The Syncs are crap for big feet. Pads are alright, straps are shyte.

For little feet, the straps can be done up nice and tight so the top pad (tongue) cant move around the place.

For big feet like mine, the extra lace length allows the tongue to move around the place when your feet are removed and then put back in the straps again. So everytime you lose your board, you have to stuff around adjusting and moving the tongue again.

And I have the large straps.

May I suggest for next year Crapina, that you fix the tongue on one side of the strap to avoid this problem. I'll pull out the needle and thread tonight and try again.

would have to disagree- I have size 13 feet, love the sync straps and pads, awesomely comfortable.

Hey Geoff, can you move the tongue in and out or does it lock in place fairly well?

Jordon's are much tighter around the toe and the tongue seemes to stay in place fairly well. Only prob was I couldnt get my feet into them.

I'm going to try adjusting mine to the right spot and then stitching the tongue in place.

Last night they were pi$$ing me off something chronic. I'd adjust them to the right spot. Then the tongue would slip or move and the fit changes.

When i was demoing the Sync's with my size 13 hoofs i found a bit of a trick to getting them back on without the tongue moving. I found if i grabbed the strap and the tongue as one piece and then pushed my foot into it, letting go of the tongue about 1cm before my foot was all the way in then the tongue would slide forward ever so slightly and lock my foot in.

I have heard of people replacing the thin flimsy elastic with some heavier elastic or just stitching the tongue in approximately the right spot for them. Might be something to look into.
