My Comments:
I'm a little bit embarrassed about buying this kite as feel i'm one of those bloke with all the gear and no idea but thought I would share just how pleased I am with it. Have been learning on second hand slingshot rallys 2011s (9m and 12m) a very kind friend gave me when he update his quiver and I wanted a big kite to get me up and riding on the lighter days given that i'm 95kg - and that's nude weight post ****!
First real session on it today in initially a light 10 knot southerly increasing to 20 knots with 25knot gusts on a 140cm cabrihna custom 2014. The kite appears to be of exceptional build quality with a stable shape given only 3 bladders. Its quicker to inflate than my 12m rally.
It was really stable in the air in blustery and inconsistent winds with smooth delivery of power on pulling in on the bar. At 10-12 knots with a significant longshore drift and choppy ocean waves I was initially struggling to get up and planing, but after getting used to the timing and response of the kite and extending the bar out (while out in the water) I was flying along having one of the easiest sessions iv'e ever had.
AS I was out the wind picked up to 20knots with the occasional 25 knot gust. I must admit i was out of my depth and found it hard to launch and set an edge, although i was finding it very easy to get really big airs which when i'm wanting to progress to that I think this kite will be awesome as the power is amazing and immediate and I suspect a more experienced rider would have loved it.
The bar to me is brilliant! Neat, responsive, very easy to trim and the length adjuster is currently very satisfactory although i understand concerns about longevity.
Can't comment on water relaunch as i didn't get it wet.
Really looking forward to getting out on this beautiful kite again ![]()
