Theoretically any board can take boots, but it is important to check that the inserts are block and not single, and that the spacing of the inserts is 6". Block inserts can handle the abuse while single inserts usually rip out after a few bad crashes.

The Nobile boots recommended board is the 50/50.

Hi Wishy,

Depending upon whether you want to go down the freestyle or wakestyle route? We have a bunch of new offerings, so here are my thoughts.

For wake - North Gambler, Best Extract (Lenton). Both these boards have high rockers and anti scratch bottom sheets made more for sliders and kickers.

For Freestyle - North Team Series (Hadlow edition or standard team series), Best Pro Creator. Much lighter weight and faster rocker line but not good on sliders.

Stick away from anything with a plastic track system. None of them last the distance with boots, despite what the manufactures claim.

I'm going to be using it exclusively in the "surf" at Leighton beach.
I like the idea of doing the occassional flicky spin or wiggly-puff.
I will also be committing to more chiko-rolls this summer, as well as the odd half-nelson-charlie-horse (backside mainly).

Missed out a few Darren,

Tona POP or check the Axis bootleg or Parker for Wakestyle. Axis also do some good freestyle boards.
Airush do a good freestyle board apparently think its called the Livewire.

Like the monkey said, inserts all the way! and Ronix may not last but they're damn comfy!

Not sure about the other brands, though the Airush Livewire comes with a warranty that won't be void if you ride with boots. I've owned both the 2013 and 2014 model and haven't had any problems so far.
Other boot specific boards are: tona pop, best profanity, slingshot asylum, f-one spicy etc.

Think they were invented by the kite company that invented dumb ass slogans.
Hey Kemp be keen to know how you think the Flow compares to the Pop, going by what Dre says, it may be quite well suited to what wishy is after in the surf. Definitely worth checking out.

re: Airrush 2015 livewire will have sintered base, and looks like it will be awesome, am moving to this from the 2014 model once released live wire defintly can take boots though.

otherwise Tona look good and have had good feedback from mates and are at a pretty spot on price point compared with some of the others mentioned.

does anyone have specs/images of the new hadlow gear yet? interested to see what makes it "hadlow" hopefully more than just a top sheet!

SHINN Ultrasonic & SHINN ADHD.Both made for boots (or straps) - ADHD for wakestyle Ultrasonic for more kite styled stuff.
check out the gurus take on them....

ps - the ultrasonic is a super sweet smooth all rounder with all the control needed for freestyling. Check the forum reviews.

Hey Nick,

Nup, didn't miss any out. It wasn't meant to be a definitive list. These are just the boards I have personal experience with. I don't know about the Tona, Airush, nor the Axis boards so I can't offer an opinion on them. I hear good things about the Tona boards although "heavy" is often used in the same sentence from what I hear.

For Nobile it's the 50Fifty but they also make one with an extruded base for kickers/sliders. It's called the 50Fifty Wake-

Locals here have had good success with the Antic, even those who have managed to break every other board around-

Personally loving the 2015 Dub, great board with or without boots.

Im not sure bout the 2015 dub but the 14 dub sucks a big dick. I used the shinn adha thing but hated it, not sure what it was about the shinn I didnt like but I just didnt like it, kind of like that kid at school that never did anything to you but every thing hi did you just wanted to kill him.
I ride a 138 pop at 79kg I had it out with a 11m razor in 9-14 knots with a run out tide, struggled to do anything but just being out in that much wind is awsome, the bottom end and speed of the pop blows me away every time.
Soon to have a 140 tona flow :) cant wate
