I am using my 136cm Cabrinha twintip. Yes, the winds were onshore SW at a local Adelaide beach called Seacliff, but what I would really like to try is a true light directional board, but not something as radical as a race board. Would you or anybody else have any suggestions as to what would be a good LW board that is easy to jibe, can handle big floaty jumps, because this kite will stay in the air on anything above 6kts? I think that sub 10kts, the board will become the most important component, when using a kite like this.

ive been riding a north nugget for a while now all strapless tho great little board .. also been having alot of fun on a skim .. not sure about a light wind board with straps maybe ask how the mako king fairs ???

see where your coming from but a bad designed light kite wont perform as a heavier well designed kite, i can name a few so called lw kites which look and feel a lot lighter than my zephyr but dont fly as good, im talking through personal exsperience here but what you have to do is set a wind strength and what you want from that wind strength it makes your decission a lot easier

From experience the ones you have already tried and how you would rank with your weight and the type of board used? Care to give feedback?

yo here is alist of lw kites i can remember, i wont bag any brand online but if you wanna email me , some were a standout some not so, i gave some a trial in bali and st raphael in france the other have been at my local, best taboo 17 core lw 17 flysurfer 21 epic v2 zephyr 2010 and 2011/12 currently own, wainmann big mama, edge 15, switch 16 nr, as i said i wont bag a brand but a demo is well worth the effort, ive got an old wipika 16.5 that performs better than some, if youre still up this way ive got 3 your welcome to take for a run

cheers, I may ask for a go on the big switch as I own an element... Anyhow what about the strut less kite? It's been much maligned on here but the 17M looks like the key at 3.5kgs and quite cheaper than most at 1100$ naked...

Oh yeah cauncy I remember now, you gave me advice once on here about south beach where I kited november-december during the harvest... my bad... sadly not heading your way anytime soon... I saw you kite down there and you have quite a style big kites and all! and yeah lucky you Dongara is good... I would love to have had a go at granny's beach... smooth flat water and waves near the shore... looked a bit hairy to launch a kite down there...

grannys is not a good spot in a sw too much turbulence from the marina, great in a nw big swells usually but a big rockwall to keep you on your toes, the best spot is the point and bay where i was kiting that day, its a little run downwind to some good to great waves with flat water over the reef, same thing here though when it goes wrong it can be a drama, head a bit north and youve got the rivermouth, sea spray, and the factory breaks

in 1 eppo, getting a bit too regular for my liking, just been working out a hardcore core strength program to try and help the old spine, failing that ill have to go under the knife i think, wind over the next few days thats the killer

Anyone bothered to ask for a demo? I'm sure they would be happy to supply.

I had the old one. Great kite. Was holding ground in 9-10knt.

8knts was going but could not get back to where we started.

Twin tip 135 x 42
