I currently ride an old 132 Drop limited and want to update.
I am happy with the drop except the water splashing in my face.
Looking for a board that is 80% wave/ 20% free style and no water in the face.
I am after some feed back on which boards are better and why.
without any bias at all, i would seriously consider a cab custom.
i pretty much only ride in the surf and this board aces it. it has plenty of rocker so carves are beautiful. like very few boards i have ridden, no splash in the face.

buy a surf board for the surf, you wont find a tt that handles waves as well. You wont be able to buy a hammer as they have stoped making them but if you can find one second hand grab it. Or try the new Airush Xover it is there most capable board for surf and should be great for freestyle as well. Or try the Fone SK8 designed mainly for carving in waves but handles bad chop and should have a comfortable ride. If you look at a surf board with straps try a f one bambo custom they look sick and ride better than any other surf board i have tryed and they are lighter than any other surf board with straps.![]()
yeah get a surfboard instead :) much more fun on the waves that with any tt...but if you are looking only got a tt then try a board that carves like an angel ;) What carves beautifully? A board with big rocker. Try Nobile NHP. Its massive rocker will show you easy carves and no sudden spray in your face...try before you buy :)
The only twin tip I know which made for waves and carving a face is the Ocean Rodeo mako range
Check oceanrodeo.com.
The Mako king is a new design being a mutant or proper twin tip. You choose for the conditions.
In mutant mode it handles like a surf board but flies up wind when ridden backwards. Down the line one way up wind the other.
In twin tip mode the King is a light wind flyer so great for the marginal conditions.
The rest of the Mako range are fast carving boards. I rate the 150 X 34 as the best but shows what I know because it is now out of production because it too extreme
