Best Nemi 12m hp test
First there are a heap of unreal kites out their this year ,and it pisses me off when people claim
One brands way better than another , I’ve seen my mate’s Rich, Marti rip on, switchblades
Daniel , Rick, on helix’s, Uco , Felix ,ozone, slingshots, , best , they are all great kites.
Yeah I am a best rider since 04 this is no 8 season for me ,last summer all the locals here rode best.
As they are a great kite too! If anybody interested in the new HP 12m
Just had my first kite on the 12m hp, wind 10-20kts gusty side shore 12.30- 4.00
Nice kite, ridiculously easy to fly, massive tow power /grunt for its size,(wake style moves)
Kite felt light for its size in gusty conditions ,crisp response in turning
(is faster than a 11 waroo / waroo pro ) great bar feedback (not too light) AB setting direct rear bridle , will pivot when bar’s pulled hard , but not at the start of the turn, which is a winner!
Jumping, more lift than the 07 11 /13 waroo / slightly less than waroo 13 pro (but have not been lit up yet) waroo pro’s need to lit up , then serious power comes on tap!!
The Hp showed signs of the WP’s awesome power when hit by 20kts , felt ........
Fast, powered bear away back roll kite loops, turn into the wind back roll kite loop transitions,
This kite excels in this department, way easier than a waroo / WP not as powered i think but
Because you can go into it with more speed & height the whip at the end is less dramatic due to
If you choose to pivot the kite through the kite loop , you don’t have that option on a waroo pro
But you do with the HP.
This kite has more flexible than any best kite I flow , would suit all levels , flat and yeah surf.
If you choose to buy this kite you wont be disaponted.
Go Big:
07 5m, 7m waroo
07 9m, 11m, 13m,-(wp)

My thoughts on the 12m - from the Best website review section.
--------------------------------
Took the 12 out for a good run in 13/14 -19/20kts. Only been out in light wind on it before <13kts.
For those coming from 07 waroos and waroo pro's, I think you'll find a different style of kite completely. This kite has lots of grunt and low end and I didn't feel uncomfortable in the slightest when the wind gusted up to 20 or so.
Tried it on 45 and 55 bars, 23 and 25 lines, AA and AB and back to back with the 07 and 07 11m waroos. I think it would be better compared to the 06 14, 07 13 and 13 pro kites as it had as much if not more grunt than these from memory. The top end feels like it will better though....
I found it very stable, nice hang time when the wind kicked in and not bad boost, but it takes a different technique to the 07 range.
Turning speed and bar pressure was fine, but there is a definate lag before the kite starts it's turn, but when it does it is quick and pivot style.
I can't help but feel this kite is really aimed at wakestyle riding as to me it would be perfect for that, steady, stable, no surprises when unhooked and pivot turn once initiated.
One of my favourite moves is a hand drag backroll kiteloop. I came out of the first couple with the kite looping alot more with alot more pull through the loop and about 2-3m body higher than normal which was interesting!
My favourite setup was 55 bar and 23m lines on AB setting.
95kg, 128x40 and 133x40 custom boards.
------------------------------------
Back to the 12, had another ride yesterday on AA 55 bar, 25m qpower lines.
Wind was a bit gusty from 14-18kts. Had a great ride. Got the timing all nailed now on the 10 and 12 and really enjoying all these kites have to offer.
They are grunty, but forgiving, fast - but controllable. And the hang time is really sweet! I'm getting calls every night from happy owners of the 12, they are all stoked.
mate they are a different kite , i agree with what you say ,just to add waroo riders the waroo unreal , i've had 4 sessions now 12mHp light -strong wind , 15-25kts the hp's is better !
its just too easy to ride ,my grommet son like loves this kite ,
feels mostly like a waroo with direct rear bride ,but also when hit by a sudden gust , it shows tendency's of the wild nature of the WP (generates Hugh power in an instance)
which may be disliked by some riders , but i like that rush feeling ! the difference between the waroo & WP is that when hit by a sudden gust / or lit up , the waroo absorbed gusts smoothly
taming release of power / WP will just generate Hugh power , transfers that power to your hands instantly , if you dont push
the bar away / depower , same thing in a jump , which gets the heart pumping! rush of power ! and is more faster response turning
wise than the pro , Hp turning is better again more response and forgiving .
The 12m HP is better that the 07 waroo both 11m/13m could easily replaced 2 kites for 1 if your tight for hoot, but closer to a
13m than a 11m , for sure!
bit less jumping power than a 13 WP. in mod -wind , - , lit up ( jumps in a different way ) more control still goes
Hugh if you push it , its likes it , they sould of called it " stunt " a trick stunt kite!
12Hp Tech side compared to waroo 13pro
i rolled the over the 13WP and the mid section is the same ,
Centre strut length the same as the 13WP
Length wise from tip to tip HP shorter by 30-40 cms each side
Wing tips are much fatter = lower aspect ratio , than WP & Waroo
pumped up not as flat as the WP kites , wing tip to tip is closer around 1m , deeper draft C shape bow kite.
And i don,t like using bigger than 13m , bigger = drag, heavy feel, slow response no extra lift .
compared what i've been riding the HP is a winner , and has given me that bit extra polish / control when riding full tilt, now i have the edge
, as my mates are kiteing sh-thot
have ordered a 10HP forsale 11WP ,13WP ,
I'm struggling to get my timing right for boosting on my 12 nem. Only had 2 sessions on it now and I know with practice I'll get it down but do you guys have any tips in regards to timing with the HP when boosting?
Have previously flown 06 14m waroo and 07 9m waroo
Cheers
Dude , i read your posts ,
water relaunch / Dingle -dangle :
[Had my first official decent session today down at rosebud. Actually got up on the board and stayed up and even went a little upwind (shazam!). However, I couldn’t water relaunch my 9 or 14. When I had lessons on a xbow, water relaunching took a second or two. My 9 and 14 behaved like two fat pigs! Didn’t want to move or slightly show any sign of raising a wing tip. Tried everything before I ended up having to rock my 14 like a b**** from side to side before I finally got it up… What was I doing wrong[/b]?
Dude , kiteing takes time, water time, your level will improve
heaps, if you are able to kite alot , my 12yr son was lucky that he had a full week of kiteing , that was his turning point, and it will happen to you if you just keep trying we have all been their ,
the advice you got from your "Dingle -dangle" post is correct,
if you follow the steps ,watch other local kiters , you will go big!
Kitebad, since that first initial post I've averaged 3 sessions a week (at least) and have improved quite considerably. I can boost on my 14 and 9 no problems and get decent height with the occassional dingle-dangle. My issue was not jumping itself but the difference in technique or timing between HP and waroo. Anyone shed some light on this?
Surely any advice regarding the HP's timing/technique will be more beneficial than just soley heading out and practicing. That was my point
How can anyone say the Nemi is better than my 07 Waroo Pro??? Stop saying that or i will have too buy one....
Waroo Pro Rocks!!!! ![]()
