BEST GP ... get our new 9m in a few days.
Anyone tried one ...any feedback would be great !
Let you know what we think in a week or so .
hey smartass...you can see i stuffed and then corrected myself. So have you ridden the GP or you still on a Bow Kite ???
Hey mate I've been on the 9 and 13 gp's this summer.
Rider: 85kg advanced
Style: wake/freestyle
Weather: 15 - 30 knots
Build Quality: 9/10
Satisfaction: 9/10
Disclosure: Best team rider.
I've been using the 13 and 9 combo for this summer and I'm completely stoked with the kites.
I normally just do Wakestyle flat water riding and these kites do everything that I need them to. The pop on them are excellent and the slack they give is great too. Makes it easy to pass the bar.
The kites have a couple of tuning options, one setting being a slightly de tuned and more forgiving one, this works awesome in strong winds and when learning new tricks. I found this kite to be more forgiving than a lot of other C kites on this setting.
the other you can make the kite a lot more aggressive and powerful with, this is good when you already got your tricks sorted and just want to go bigger and better with them.
The 9 I found is fast, i fly mine on the slowest settings and still have more than ample turning speed (note: i like my kites as slow as possible). On the fast settings it throws pretty awesome loops. The thing i noted about this kite is at the top end of it's range it has more usability unhooked than my previous kites. I found that when unhooking even at the top end of the kite that if you crash the kite depowers enough to not throw you around.
my favourite is the 13 though because it is super grunty, so easy to park and makes learning tricks feel almost like a cable system.
If you want to know anything specific just let me know and if anyone in perth wants to have a go let me know via PM and we can sort something out.
Thanks Charle...
Great review and tips for next week on the GP.they sound awesome..Joe did say he loves the 13m.might bring back some memories of the old 2002 Slingy Fuel days.
