Hi,
I posted this to kiteforum.com but didn't get any responses and I know that many of you have ridden/tested the Bandit3s so I would like to hear your feedback/views on this:
What are your thoughts/feedback on Bandit3 7m2 as a wavekite? I need a kite for onshore wind and for strapless riding. Does the 7meter tick all the boxes on drifting (stability, not falling if lines go slack) and turning when depowered?
Currently I have Bandit Dos 5.5 and it likes to nosedive if there's a hint of slack lines ![]()
I got a good deal on this one so I would like to know your opinions, pls!
Feedback appreciated!
The bandit 3 drifts back a lot quicker than the Dos. The dos had a tendancy to hindenberg which wasnt that good, the B3 just drifts back and stays up you can actualy ride strait at it and not have a problem. The B3 is allso a lot better wave kite it has a lot less barpresure and it unhooks easyer, it will fly a lot closer to the edge of the window which helps in onshore conditions. It has a lot more depower and turns faster than the DOS. The kite is just smoother allround it isnt as jerky in gusts. It realy feels like a completely new kite diferent from the original bandit and dos. It is a lot more user friendly, the relaunch is better the fabric is tougther and there is now no chance of catching the wing tips as they are now tucked back a bit. It has picked up one extra pulley but they seem to be made of good quality, if you get one and it has the white FOne stamped pulleys you will need to wash them after each sesion as they seem to rust and stain the kites, but most of the recent ones have come with a black pulley which has no problems.
For riding strapless i find i can still hold the same kite as when i ride my TT, i just drop the midle line a knot and it is great. I havent flown the 7m but i have flown the 8m. I think if you are looking for a bigger kite than a 5.5 you should probaly go the 8m as the 7 would feel very similar in power and wouldnt increase your wind range by to much. There are plenty of demos available find your local dealer and see if you can give one a go, most of them would probaly have 9's but that should give you a good idea of the changes in this kite.
