Rider: Level, advanced)
Style: , Surf
Weather: 14 to 20 knots
Build Quality: 9/10
Satisfaction: 10/10
Disclosure: No affiliation with any brand

After only a couple of sessions on the BWS Pro 8 and 10 in average wind and surf conditions i can highly recommend these kites, i have been riding for almost 9 years mosty in Wa , have owned or at least ridden most brands out there.
I have been on RRD for many years and would consider myself a fairly experienced rider but still only average to some riders out there ,being a bit older and coming from a surfing back ground i started like most kiters on flat water and progressed back into the surf.

The BWS Pro is a three strutt kite that has excellent launch and relaunch as good as ive seen , does not twist on itself when in water and has consistant drive from all areas of the window, it has good power delivery and wont pull you off the board.

The direct fixed steering lines gives excellent rider feedback , the turning speed of this model i would say is very close to the Religon,Reo , drifts i believe better than any other kite ive been on , even did a few kite loops which i havnt tried for some time , this kite preformed so well it gave me cofindence to try one again , the way it sits in the window , no stalling or jelly fishing when the gust comes makes for wave riding above your own capabilities.

I had only ridden the original BWS a few demos when it first came out a few years ago and it did seem that the sizing was larger , the 8 Pro does have a good bottom end but does fly as a normal 8 when the wind picked up giving you great wind range.

The 10 was slightly slower turning than the 8 ,again very very smooth power delivery and preformance

Although i was on a Jimmy lewis Rad F in less than average wind waves was still riding further up wind than most others out on 12 and surf boards.

The build quality is as good as you can get , the new bars are simple but work , it has taken me a long time to change from Religons which i allways thought was the benchmark for wave kites.
The BWS Noise pro for me at least does every thing you need from a Wave kite , as i am no freestyle rider it did still preform well on the small jumps and freeriding

Definatley put on your list to try , there isnt one kite that suits everybody try them all , i have.

Good review and yes I concur with what you said on my small time on it. A very good wave kite. A very specific kite for a very specific purpose.

Eppo , i have been on RRD for so long , found it hard to find a kite over the last few years that did it for me .

Since moving back to Qld the last year ,i have tried the new cabs, north, wainman and ozone as well , they were very close to what i was looking for and again the religon was hard to beat.

Good to see all the brands getting kites that preform well in waves, changing from the religons was as a hard a descision as when a lot of us had to change from c kites to the so called hybreds years ago.

Its good to try other brands no matter what level of kiter you are , a slight change in the the kites preformance and flying characteristics , certainly can help you have that bit more fun on the water.

Let me jump on this thread as I'm desperately trying to get some info about Noise Pro (I'm in France and BWS is simply non existant around here). Started kitesurfing in 1999, tried all sorts of kites since then. Been surfkiting since 2008 and currently ride BWS Mulcoy 6' which I really like.
Concerning kites, I've been riding Wainman since late 2009 with a quiver of Smoke and Gypsy (9m and 7m). Still use the 7m, and bought a 2nd hand 2013 Smoke in April. For some reasons after these years, I'd like to make a change. So I'm thinking about the new BWS Noise pro which were released in May/June 2013.
Anybody who tried them and could compare them with Wainman Rabbits? I had the occasion to demo the first BWS Noise back in 2011 but did not like them. They were way to slow and had a blurry feedback on the bar. I know it takes a while to get used to a new kite (took me 3 sessions to get dialed to the Wainman coming from SS Rev).
So concerning the new Noise pro : are they fast turning? What's the bar pressure like? Is the feedback precise on the bar? What would be the equivalent of a Smoke 2013 and a Gypsy 2011 (their wind range is just perfect for me)? Noise Pro 6 & 8m or 6 & 10m? I'm quite concerned not to get a gap between 6 and 10m, knowing that an 8m is probably the best choice for those sweet 20-25knts days.

Cheers for your help.

@ tripman75: hi, I'm in Italy and I know that BWS isn't well known here as well...
Any case, I have a Noise Pro 10m since May (one of the firsts on the market) and I really can confirm all the best that Berabusa wrote: very fast in turning, smooth in delivery power, insane drift..; really another kite if compared to the previous one (classic), much more speed and a less low end, but a very high end.
cheers,
giulio

Thanks Guilio for your input. What's your weight, board and what's your wind range with the 10 pro?

@Tripman
The BWS Pro has evolved a lot compared to the classic. So fast, smooth, super stable with great drifting performance. I agree with Giulio about the low and high end.The bar pressure is I would say light to medium and gives very precise feedback. As for the construction I can only complement BWS, nice work! So actually I don't have any negative things to say about the Noise Pro, on the contrary!! I understand your concern about sizing, I weigh 90kg and the 8 excells for me in 20-25kts but as biggest kite the Pro 8 is too small in my opinion. I ride most of the time the board BWS Drifter which is a 5.9.
Just go for it tripman, you won't regret it!! Cheers

@tripman75: I'm 76 kg; ride a surf board 5'9", my wind range is 13 kts to 25/27, but the high end is very personal,
if you have the chance, try a Noise Pro, you'll be surprise...

KarlV, I see that you ride in the North Sea. I often go to Wissant in the North of France. Are you sometimes there for me to try the BWS?

Another north sea rider here, looking to convert from big brand kites to support this niche bunch of dedicated surfers. BWS seem genuine in their pursuit of wave designs, I like that, and have blindly ordered their Drifter board but for kites the local reputation so far is not great. May I ask, are the 2014 models better than the usual localy used bigger brands (Bandit, Neo and Naish) in terms of dealing with close mushy waves and working upwind against the tide in gusts ? will 8 & 6m be enough to get by for 80 kg (apparently thses kites are v powerful) or do you need 3 kites 10, 8 &6 with 2 bars to cover 12 knot + ? If you read Mr Wilson, he says 10&6 is a good enough combo, but 8 is his favouite .. we fly 8/9 alot up here. Thanks for any advice, before I commit to jumping into the expensive unknown based on theory and heart ... I think Tripman is sitting on the same fence, coucou ...

HI Jasonwave, I kite since a year of 10-12y and I have ridden most of my years with North --> from Rhino2 till Vegas, Rebel & Evo. I ordered also blindly my first BWS kite (6m²) in 2011 and the first session I remember very well was not the greatest.. I did not understand how to ride the kite.. but after a few sessions I became more used to the kite and I loved it. then I sold my 2 other bigger remaining NOrths (brand new EVO's) because their backstalling (a problem of ALL North's) annoyed my impressively and I switched them for more BWS Kites. The new BWS Pro is an insane complete kite, so smooth in the power, so powerfull in the turns if you wish to ride it like this and on the other hand you can switch off completely the power of the kite to ride the wave and your kite will sit there and drift with you till you give it a new instruction, the speed of the BWS Pro has improved greatly compared to the former BWS Noise.. and then the bar feedback is just right, compared to other brands it is way smaller and compact and without any unnecessary things, it is sooo clean and nicely made.. As for the sizes for my personally the 6 & 8 are must haves in the quiver, completed with a big kite for those less windy days.. I can only recommend BWS fully, and don't worry about ordering online with them.. you can expect a great service back (even when a problem would occur of some kind) I hope this helps. If you want to meet in Wissant and have a go with the BWS Noise Pro no problem, I saw that there will be some good SW winds coming next week Best Regards
Karl

if anyone in perth wants a demo of the new 2014 noise pros before they buy give us a shout and your welcome to come down to scarbs and take mine for a spin. they have been getting great reviews- im so stoked with them, faster than previous model but also park just as good as the original noise too . having a kite that parks great on the wave is really important for me and this is what i loved about older model. with the new kite you get lighter bar pressure, faster kite and a kite that parks awesome- so you get best of everything aswell as top quality construction and a sweet newly improved bar for 2014! yew

Ryland,

Had my first windy session on my 8 Pro on sunday at Margate Beach in 22plus knots ,small 1 meter wind waves on a outgoing tide.
The 8 preformed better than i expected ,the turning speed and all round preformance of this kite in choppy wind waves on a 5/9 SB was one of the best sessions ive had , cant wait to get on to some good size waves with it, and as you have reviewed the bar works as good if not better than any ive had.
Ed just recieved his 6 , 8 pro and his new 6/1 Rawson , so you should see him down at scarbs as soon as the wind comes on,interested to see what he thinks of them, good to see the perth summer finally starting to kick in for you guys.

Great living in QLD again , bigger choice of Waves but after 25 years in Wa will miss those SeaBreezes .

How much lowe end will I lose with the pro? At 100kg I rely on the pull of my 12m noise to get me going on the light wind days and my 8's ability to pull me through the lulls.

eabmoto,

The pro from my time on has only slightly less power than the noise , the extra speed of the kite does help with that loss, i never owned the noise but did demo quite a few , i am 78kls and ride my 10 easily on a SB in 16 plus knots getting up wind very easily when needed, i have ridden my 12 on a SB in only 14knots but only down wind and had plenty of power .

Thanks for the review bearbusa. I have yet to try the Noise Pro after riding the previous version Noise for over a year now.

I have to disagree with eppo though ...

Although the BWS Kites are marketed as Wave kites, they have all the qualities of a freeride kite. I don't like waves and ride only wakestyle and love the BWS Noise. Tried F-One and Cabrinha but they didn't perform any better for me than the BWS Noise, and I could not justify the premium price of the F-One or Cabrinha.

Anyway, my 5c.

For the North Sea kitesurfers, I've got the 6m2 and 10m2 Noise pro Combo and it is replacing my Caution Spitfire 11m2, 8m2, 5m2 kites with the same kite range available for the two Noise Pro kites. I had some day's already with increasing wind during the day when I jumped smoothly from an almost(but not fully) depowered 10m2 Noise Pro to the 6m2 Noise Pro with a slight depower, so no gap at all between the range of these two kites. Of course if you can afford you can buy the 6,8,10 and 12m2 Noise Pro, but as most magazines and shops will push you to buy the full range and convince you to have max 2m2 between kites, the BWS crew have been very helpfull to me and honest and told me the 6m2 and 10m2 will cover the range I was looking for which gave me the confidence to first time buy a kite without trying it. Hope this answers your questions @Jasonwave.

I agree with @CrashTestOZ, I kite also on flat water and love the stability of the Noise Pro there, if you like to jump very high then there are better kites, but if you like to jump against chop to make some loops or unhooked tricks then you will love the Noise Pro also on flat or choppy water.

Shipping: it takes faster to get the Kites/boards from China to Europe then sending a letter inside a country in Europe,

I am riding further the 6'1 Rawson which works great strapless in almost all Nort Sea kite conditions I also use it to surf in Denmark in the North Sea.
I was planning to buy the Firewire Hellfire, but did't like the board on top of that they are much more expensive than the BWS boards. The 5'9 Drifter I use mainly when I preffer to go on a board with straps so when it get very windy and messy in the Nort Sea.

If someone wants to try my 6,10m2 Noise pro or Rawson or Drifter in Denmark or in the North of Spain then get in contact.

Need an advise from Noise pro riders. I have 8 & 6m pros + 12 kite from another brand which I am selling at the moment. Would like to get bigger kite from BWS but struggle to make a decision between 12 or 10. I am 76 kg, ride BWS drifter 5'9 and need to cover wind from 12 knots (10 kts could be nice:-) 12m would be my first choice but afraid that it is another slow turing & "big guy" kite. Any advice would be appreciated.

Popay,

I am 79kg and have 6/8/10/12 and mainly ride SB, i only used the 12 over the last 6 months in 12 plus and mainly downwind , it does turn slower but thats the price to pay for larger size , although it was quicker than my previous brand.

I managed to ride my 10 on downwinders easily on a SB in 15knts plus , have ridden the 12m up to 20 plus and does move quicker with more breeze,
any less wind than 15 these days i go for a surf instead

Try a demo out and make the call

Hi, finally got the 10m and it is just perfect. My quiver is now 10/8/6.
I have a question about the 6 & 5 m Noise Pro.
The wind must have been abt 27/30 knots and I was having hard time with the 6m, so much overpowered (i weight 75 kg). I was having a hard time holding onto my strapless board.
Should i exchange 6m or 8m to 5m? I do want to limit my quiver to 3 kites. So the choice is 10/8/5 or 10/6/5 or just to hang on to the 6m?
I tried and it looks like 10/6 quiver might actually work (still a bit sceptical). We have + 26 knots weather days about 5 days a year and those are the best :-)
Would like to hear your comments / experiences.

Thanks

Popay, my quiver is 8/5 noise pro and I think that spacing works well. I love the 8m.
The 5m is great too but there are still times when I get over-powered riding strapless. Maybe I need to put straps on (or do something else) when it gets over 30kts, but the 5m does seem powerful for its size.
