Hi,
I currently ride Tyrant 6'1 strapless version (lighter than strapped/normal version).
I am after a second board for lighter winds and smaller onshore sloppy waves. I got a good deal on Celeritas 2012 5'8, but I haven't tried it and neither I can find much feedback on it. The 2012 Celeritas has a funny tail shape so I am wondering if it works or not? This is the strapless version as well (I am after a light board).
The other option would be Drifter, though it's a bit more expensive than Celeritas.
Anyone could point me in the right direction, please? I weigh 80kg and this new board should be for strapless air, rotations etc. as well as early planing and sloppy waves.
Thank you!
OMG,
I had a Celeritas in 2010 and currently own a Drifter, I'm 85kg and prefer the Drifter, the conditions you ride are the same as mine.

thanks Mike. I was wondering how the 2012 Celeritas is like as they changed the tail quite a bit.
I really like the Tyrant strapless version; it doesn't suck in to water, it's riding more like on top of the water which I like for airs, but yet the rail holds when carving. I would guess the Celeritas is having the same(ish) template at least on pop wise.
Decisions, decision...
One more option would be Firewires, but it might take time before they bring out the strapless models.
OMG,
I demoed the 2012 celeritas and talked at great length with the crew at kite power Qld. that tail shape made its handling unpredictable and difficult to judge when it would slide out or hold on. ( I ride bay side slop all the time on the redcliffe peninsular).
Bought the 2012 skillet liked it but a bit but I'm a Sling Shot tragic, so when the 2013 Celaritas came out with the new tail shape I snapped it up. fantastic board super fast, upwinds very well super lively sucks to he water like the tyrant makes the skillet feel like a slug. if I couldn't have the 2013 celeriras I would have gone with he drifter.
all my riding is strapless.
cheers
Horey.
Bought a drifter couple months ago. Fun direct board that is loose when you need it to be. Glass job is a bit thin / weak but it is a board for riding , not something you put on the mantle piece.
The Drifter is a sick board. My favourite so far.
As for light wind it has more volume than a kiteboard as it is made for paddle/prone surfing also. It also has fantastic upwind ability. At 72kg I can make ground upwind on my 8m in 15kn while many others cannot hold ground with 10s.
The only negative about the board is that I find it a bit heavy. Fine for kiting, but not so much for paddling.
