I spoke to one of the co-founders of BWS a couple of weeks back and he said there is significant differences (positive) in performance. But then both of my kids got dumped by a wave (was teaching them to surf in knee high waves) and that was that. So there is, hopefully someone can flesh this out.
pretty much 3 main models with a few bridle tweeks along the way. Alot of crew may have flown the original model when they were first released but there has been significant changes to the kite in terms of new bridle about 6 months ago and construction upgrades etc and a few other minor tweaks.
version 1- had benwilsonsurf written on leading edge and tips
version 2- had bridle upgrades and now changed and has BWS written on leading edge and tips( not benwilson surf) plus bag has a few extra badges.
Version 3- which just was released today has new graphics on wing tips( different colours for different sizes), new scuff guards, new bridles. Kite has a slightly different cut to the canopy above the bar option for depower. logos on inside of canopy aswell as outside and comes with upgrade bag as standard.
I'm cant be sure, but I am pretty sure he was asking the flight characteristics, who give a pigs grunt about where the logos are. How does it fly??
not sure of the differences in performance but I would guess each version would have performance difference so it is nice to know you can actually tell the difference between models when looking for a second hand model.
Yeah sorry I thought they were asking about differences to look for as to what model etc when purchasing 2nd hand so as to pick if it's 18 months old or 6months( version2) etc.
Thanks Cracker for showing the peeps what to look for... enough said. THe BWS is an AUSSIE brand yet keeps getting tall poppy syndrome. WTF..? They fly well, they relaunch as well as any other hybrid, and they are very grunty. So what????? Ryland can rip with a 2006 fuel, yet rip even harder with the new 2012 BWS, its just refinement
