Seems all the other brands have some sort of thread going at the moment yet, NOTHING on F-one!! What's going on?!
There prototypes probably have the same chicken loop as last years and are still trying to recover there gear from a tree for testing.lol
Would be good to see some pics, reviews etc before they are released hope they have worked on some of the more anoying parts like the bar, chicken loop, safety.
I think we got them in the start of october last year so hopefully something will be out soon![]()
One Pump
Changed wind tips
some minor changes to reinforcement
They are working on a Upgrade to QR but will it be ready in time, who knows.
some say they are looking a bit closer to the Tribal 2.
Pricing hasn't changed.
The F-One importer meeting is in Mauritus from July 28 - August 5 - would imagin we'll start see pictures after that.http://www.sbckiteboard.com/News?news_id=1000&uniqid=651
One pump option is fully expect to be on the cards but even the importer hasnt got info or samples for me yet . But ill start to get some info soon and yes have heard about the new tribal and new chicken loop , but all just rumours so far

This is what I've heard if you are looking, I hope to up date as news comes in.
There are also some other new 2010 kites to look at.

Well we have 2 demos in store ready to try this weekend up Double Island Point. 13mtr & 10mtr so will have a review for you by Monday (wind permitting).
Obvious changes:
One pump - simple system and works a treat.
All lines same length - This has been achieved by shortening the bridal, but also by adding leader lines to the wing tips. Wing tips are a slightly different shape this year which should provide an earlier release on relaunch in lighter conditions (hope we don't get to test this tomorrow).
Bar - New UPS and safety line position. Dockey's dik is easy to move out of the way without having to remove it for unhooking. Colours have changed on the lines so you can't mix up your older F one bar with the new one. Outside line adjustment is knots, not tabs making it much easier to adjust evenly. More info after we ride it.
Our demos here have multi tuning on the trailing edge wing tip so we are hopeful these these will stay for the final production kites which are due here soon. Still waiting on confirmation for this.
The graphics are awesome again & the bag this year has come out in great colours for durability. All up, a very classy product again this year from FOne, we can't wait to fly them.
Also testing FOne boards this weekend and we can't wait to see how they go.
OH NO SAME F@#K*&^ **** quick release system!! That's not good enough... Will have to swap that one for a north or best one....again!
Otherwise looks good
Are the new bandits out for sale now? if those are just demo's when can we expect to be able to buy them?
well by the look of the photo's they have used the same f@%$#n S&^t saftey release system very disappointed
I've broken 2 of the plastic bits which ive replaced with a stainless ring but don't see why people have issues with the Velcro saftey system.
Never releases unexpectedly on me and works when full of sand. Why would you ever put another brand release with moving intricate parts on your bar?
Must like dramas ![]()
I agree it is simple not much can go wrong with it but with no plastic piece will be 100%. Plus unhooked it will work better and now no chance of flaging line getting stuck(hopefully) and getting draged by a powered looping kite by your leash. They have even given us equal length lines so if the bar doesnt suit you, you can choose just about any bar you like. sweet.![]()
Good job F One you have hopefully fixed all the problems on the kite i hade last year just cant wait to fly one not to far away though. ![]()
One last thing I hope there leashes have been improved, I thought they sucked ass.![]()
DI works awesome in a NWly. Have had 3 full days of kiting, early starts mind you to get the tide right.
The new BANDIT3 (B3) in a 10 &13 were what we have spend the last 3 days testing in good winds and a range of conditions including flat water lagoon, river mouth small surf. So we can give some feed back for you.
Bar still has nice soft feel but now with the new UPS (no plastic bits) it is much neater and stronger. The velcro release and safety line are improved too. The donkey's dik was a definate improvement also, making it easier to move out the way when unhooking and to fit in place.
One pump yay! I already like it even more now, simple one pump system similar to many already in use so easy to get parts for.
Kite build is even better with even more heavier material on trailing edge and teh classy look is really flash with an Fone watermark style allover the dacron.
The kite itself flys and feels very similar to last years but a little more even pull through turns and still has explosive lift and pop ,when jumping.
Depower? Hard to say as it wasnt windy enough to top out my old 10 or the demo 10, so couldnt say for sure.
The smaller bridles didnt seem to get caught up at all, nice! The even line length is handy too.
Relaunch still seemed good and the ****ging line worked well when I tried it.
Range of people have given it a go and were impressed and the 13 is still great in light wind, trucks up wind but is still fast enough to be fun.
Stocks will be limited to small ones in the first shipment (due Sept), however there will be just a few 10 and over so make sure you check with your stockist and get your orders in.
Both Fone boards we tried performed very well. The SK8 has plenty of rocker and a reverse edge on the rails making it cut up wind very nicely for a high performance board.
The TX is an excellent all round board. Both have great built quality and the straps were very adjustable to suit smaller riders and the larger riders, which is often hard to find in one strap. Extra comfy all round and good grip on the pads for freestyle.
Hope this gives you some info to think about.
Have Fun
GEORGE
We heard from the Dutch reseller in Europe that all version with multiple bridle attachments are prototypes (it should be printed too on both the kite and bag)
They will not be there on the final production version. Personally I think that is a good thing since there will be nothing to tune or mess up ![]()
Your findings sound very good! Cannot wait to try one myself soon.
What about the low-end? Is it still as good as the low-end of the Dos?
And did you had a chance to test the stability?
Bottom end was still as good as the Dos, they have not lost any of that grunt. Stability was good, but the conditions were excellent. We taught alot with the Dos last year at the local lakes because of their stability in gusty, turbulant winds. There is no reason we could see to expect that to have changed, but will let you know when we get them into the right conditions to test it properly.
Yeah, after checking out the 13mtr we discovered lots of tuning points so definately don't expect to find that many on the finished product. Kind of agree that simple is good, but just occasionally it is nice to tune the turning speed a bit so will be interested to see if there are any final tuning points.
Some locals have used the 10mtr on flat water unhooked and have found it very stable, no complaints. Will see if we can get some more info.![]()
Here is a vid about what Mikhail Soloveikin?? thinks about the new bandit -->
