Hey guys

Need a little help, After trashing my beautiful Ozone Instinct 06 13M it is time for me to invest in a new large kite, I will continue to use my Ozone instinct 06 9M on the windier days.

I Have been a huge fan of the Instinct and want to find a new kite to move on to. I like kiting in the surf and a bit on flat water i'm still on a twin tip board. I am tempted between the Ozone sport, Best Waroo, Slingshot rev, or any thing else may be a Naish Helix. I like a bit of bar pressure so i can feel where the kite is but i don't want to be nackered after only an hour of kiting.

Has any one got any suggestions of what might suit me. I'm fed up of some of the BS that some kiteshop staff feed me. I sometimes think i am beeing forced into un wanted stock. (its on special so it must be good)

Hey inthezone I can recommend either the Core Combat or the Airush Vapor II. I have ridden both and like both a lot.

The Vapor is a very pleasant kite to fly, adjustable bar pressure and turning speed, falls back nicely when riding waves and heaps of power with its hybrid shape - a great kite for me for over a year now, amazingly smooth.

The combat is something different, the 12 is super fast and has more bar pressure than the vapor. It has to be the fastest large kite I have flown to date and would be a kiteloopers dream. Its also very good in the surf and falls back in the window nicely.

A mate has a new Ozone also (7m) and he gets that going in some amazingly light winds - I was super impressed with its performance!

Both are great kites and well worth a demo.

Get an Edge II or Sport II in 13m or 11m sizes. demo them both and find out which one you like best. They are basically a more evolved form of the 06 kite, and the performance will be markedly better. I have found my 11m edge II has bottom end performance roughly equivalent to a 13m rev that i have flown in the same winds. they really are a fantastic kite.

Hi intheozone,

Since you are already familiar with the Ozone kites, I reckon you should do yourself a favour and grab a demo ride on the new Sport II 13m.

The new 08 model is a big improvement on the 06. If you let us know what area you are in, your local conditions, your weight and board size, we can probably help a bit more.

Good winds,

Thanks for all the help guys, Problem is none of the kite shops between brisbane and the gold coast have any ozones to test out.

I weigh between 86-90kgs and ride a 124-38 twin tip.

From what every one has been saying sticking with the Ozone sportII seems to be the way forward now i just want to test one to double check before i part with the huge amount of cash.

I'm still open to offers.

PS just got back from the first session out in a while down on the Gold Coast, Bit gusty but so good to be out again, and on my 9m as well!!!!

Hang in there Steve Kitepower Brisbane will be opening in a few weeks.
Ozone kites will be on demo, if you contact Jon the owner/manager he will be there from next weekend and you could hook up with him for a demo of the 08 kites.
The Kitepower shop will be opening in Clontarf, at the end of the bridge, there used to be another kite shop there until recently.

Have you tried Kamakaze Kites? They are down the goldie and import ozones last time I spoke to them -

http://www.goldcoastguide.com.au/shopping_kamikaze.html

If interested come and give Liquid Force a go too. You will be surprised how well they fly especially the Havocs. Full 09 range in stock already. We are on the northside of Brisbane at Sandgate. Also have Airush, Gaastra, Eclipse and Starkites for demo too.
