What type of riding? Flat water or waves?

Wanting to unhook, or always ride hooked in?
Whats your other kites make and model and size?
I've flown both quite a bit (CB in 10M though).

Hi i'm an italian kiteboarder and during my last trip to Maui I had the possibility to try them both. So, 11 Xbow IDS is more oriented at hooked riding style even if is the best "unhooked" style XBow i tried so far. It is also a more powerful kite than the Switch and I found it a little bit better in waves due to the amazing turning ability and the on/off capability in no time. Switch 10...I loved it! I'm more into unhooked style by now and this is the best Switch ever! Responsive, quick and powerful but all packed in a smooth way and with an IDS system that proved to myself its reliability. It starts to pull my weight (72 kilos) with a Caliber 138 at 13 Knots and above, depending on the sea state. Even in waves the Switch works fine but if you are learning new unhooked moves this is the way to go. So before coming back to Italy I bought Switch IDS 10 and XBow IDS 13 for the low wind sessions. And after a lot of sessions with them I can honestly say that they are the best kites I ever had! A big ciao from a cold Italy and...sorry for my english.

Hallo from Italy. XBow IDS should be your kite! It's more a freeride kite than the Switch nevetheless it's a real "elevator" with an amazing windrange. Granted!

Hallo. XBow IDS 11 and Switch IDS 10 are both great in jumping. In medium wind I prefer the XBow due to the "extralift" it can produce. When the wind increase it is possible to jump very high and the stability is impressive. Kiteloops? No problem at all. Back in Italy I had some sessions with the Crossbow IDS 13 and I can say: for me is the best low wind kite ever and a real toy. With a Slingshot Glide I can ride upwind starting from 8 Knots doing some nice tricks (180 inverted back and front kite loop, etc.). The 11 is not different, I mean it's powerful, stable and reactive and I've found it perfect not only in jumping but also in hooked wave riding. On the other hand the Switchblade IDS 10 it's all about what a great freestyle kite should be. A perfect mix between power and control in a smooth way, but overall, the XBow IDS stability is better thanks to the 7 struts (5 for the Switch). I hope this may help. A big ciao from Italy.

G'day 6053frog

I agree with everything Vader says, and I reckon the CB would be the better of the 2 kites for you. I get to fly both SB and CB IDS kites a lot and I still prefer the CB for my hooked in style of riding. The 13M is a beast for power and when the wind is up you can still do huge floaty jumps with it.
I've got 9m 10M and 13M in demo and a shop rider has an 11M, really sweet kites this year.
Bomber construction, and great safety system and relaunch

Just got myself a 12m Switchblade IDS, my 2nd kite after my 9m Turbo Diesel 2 which I learnt on last season. I'm 70kg and ride an 132 RRD Passion twin tip and in today's 13-18knot breeze this kite was awesome, so smooth direct and stable but fast if you wanted it to be. Don't really want to ride my Turbo after today, will have to get a smaller SB (or Rev) soon!
