This is my first post for 2 years now and its all cause of my new Rev. This kite is so much fun, I love the predictability, power, speed and bar pressure.
I missed the 2007 fuels this year cause I was loving my 2006 9mtr octane, but after seing my mate AP on the Rev boosting, I had to give it a shot. And so glad I did cause now I've found the answer to the secret of eternal happiness.

Yep, I agree totally. The 9m Rev is poetry in motion!

Has anyone riden/owned the 13 Rev? My quiver consists of the 9m rev and a 12m Raven2.
Back when I first got the Raven I were sooo impressed with its responsive turning, jumping, hangtime, barpressure and depower. I originally wanted the Helix or the Cult, but after riding the Helix for the first time, that was it for me with the new Naish range. Hopefully they improve the bar pressure and jumping, and get it right next year.
But after owning the rev for about 2 months now, its sad to say that the old Naish legend has expired with my new 'Rev'el of expectations in a kite.

I've riden the 7m, 9m & 15m Rev, all having their own unique characteristics. The 7m is a misquito, the 15m is too slow (but its 15m so will always seem slow after coming off the 9m).

Anyway I'll end up getting the 13m Rev regardless. I were just curious on people's experience with this kite, and if it might be worth getting the 13 Bandit for it low down grunt? However I'm sure that the Rev has comparable low end grunt, but will not sit on its back and refuse to relaunch like the Bandit.

Cheers

Walshd,

Just wondering why you don't like about the bar pressure and jumping with the helix/cults?

And also with the relaunch of the bandit, you know that all you have to do is let go of the bar, and the kite does all of the work for you? It doesn't relaunch if you try to make it

It will never be a 9M REV but an awesome kite in its own right. Boosts are unreal once you have a bit of wind behind it.
Im still waiting to get my impressions of the 9M up in print. Everytime I try I just cant find the words. Wont be long though - I am getting round to it.

Cheers for that.

I havent riden the cult yet but the Helix was a bit of dissapointment. Dont get me wrong, they are awesome kites. But with all the BS and talkup of the new sigma series, I were expecting it to be the apitomy of kites.....it wasn't. It lacked low end grunt and seemed to feel lifeless. To be honest I've only heard of a few people in SA that like the kite. Those that do love it!

It was a lightish wind (12-18 knts) when the 12m helix was on demo so probably contributed to the kite feeling life-less with little boost.

Haven't you had the Bandit sit on its back and refuse to relaunch. I've seen the boys here have it happen a few times now, and it took them about 5 mins frustratingly playing with the bar to get it to pocket wind and stand on its leading edge. I assumed it was because the front tow points were too central on the leading edge but if letting go of the bar is the trick, I'll take your word for it and blame inexperience.

My bandit relaunchs each and every time, no worries, I just let go off the bar
However this could be due to the fact that this is my first kite, and I havn't learn't any other techniques.
