Hi everyone, hoping you can help me out with a bit of a dilema here.
I'm going to buy a new 9m in the next week or two and can't seem to decide between the 08 Waroo or the SS Rev. All things being equal I would have gone with the Rev, however it seems I can get a Waroo about $500 cheaper (maybe more) than the Rev and I want to know if it would be worth the diff (I suspect not). I'll break it down...
Pro:
1. One-pump (I REALLY wanted that but I suppose with a 9m its not as important to me as with larger kites)
2. Great kite with c-kite feel
3. Better low end
Con:
1. About $500 more ![]()
2. Waroo has higher top-end (from what I understand) which might be more useful to me as I also have an 11m.
I hear the Rev is a very good kite, but the price diff has me in agony...
Please Help!

I had the 9m waroo 2007 and 9m Rev both until last week.
Sold the Waroo,
The rev is better in waves cause it turns quicker. also goes upwind better
The waroo felt like a more stable kite and is sort of easier to use in general.
You will like both, but its sort of nice to change friom Waroo to Rev, just for the speed.
I did try the 2008 Waroo for about 15minutes, felt a little smoother than the 2007.
Personaly think that one pump shuould not be a factor in buying a kite, as I prefer single point inflation.
I think the Rev will also have better resale , you may make up for some of the extra you pay now.
Had exactly the same dilemma a few months ago.
Took both out for a demo, loved both, ended up buying the 08 Waroo.
If they were the same price it would have been a tough decision.
Love the SS Rev bar setup.
Both are great kites, and feel quite similar.
Forget about the 07 Waroo as the 08 is a very different kite, and sooooo much better in every way.
No way will the REV have a $500 better resale than the 08 Waroo

Cheers, Carl.
I too had the same dilema, flew both kites, loved em both. Bought the waroos ( 7 & 11 ).loved those big floaty jumps, But every time I go out I wish I'd bought the REV. Just a slightly more "exciting" kite to fly, less cruisey, more hands on - which I thought would be a bad thing but as my kite skills increase I really think I shoulda bought the grunt machine. As for the dollar side of the equation - who cares! Buy the kite you love, fly it for two seasons and there really is no resale- coupla hundred bucks at most. I'm probably gonna upgrade within the season, something I thought I'd never do.
Thanks for the responses guys, although I've still not made a decision and I'm still torn. Probably tending towards the 08 Waroo, but I have a couple of other contenders too (Atom and NEW 9m).
Ideally I'd love to support a WA company and buy the NEW, but my (2005) c-kite has totally shattered my elbows and one thing I was looking for is light bar pressure - I don't see how even a new-style c-kite can have comparable bar pressure to a bow/hybrid, but then again I'm no aero engineer. Then there's also the versatility of something like the Rev/Waroo...
Goddamnit, im no closer to a decision... shame i don't have time to demo a bunch of kites when im over in perth...
Decisions, decisions...

Let me really stuff you up, you want light bar pressure and a great kite? test fly the new Ozone speacially the edge ... these kites are the extreme in light bar pressure, and they perform. There are 3 styles the light designed for surf, the sport designed for the newstyle and freeride and the edge the speed, boost and hangtime machine. All are 1 pump this year.... and no I don't sell them I just want to mess with your head. Try 1 you will know what I mean!!
If you are thinking of the NEW KITE, you may have to to go for the 11m, as the 9 hasnt got a lot of bottom end comparable to the 9 rev,
A super sweet kite, low bar preasure, fast turning, would be my choice in 5 line kites for shure.

i preferred the rev more than an ion but the ion flew really well, the relaunch and bar put me off it though. [also more expensive]
I found the waroo's have very light bar pressure because of the 2 to 1 pulley system on the bridle, sure it has a few more pulleys but so long as you free them up before you ride there is no drama. As far as speed goes for in the waves they have more than enough,I love my 08 11m an my 07 9m.Did a back to back test with 11m rev an the rev was marginally faster an the waroo had better bottom end but both great kites for sure, try them all,you cant go wrong this year everyone is making top kites.....decisions, decisions ...hmmm![]()
