Hi Crew,

We are stoked to announce the introduction of the 2016 NORTH KITES REBEL.

For 2016 we took a look at what our customers really want from the REBEL.
Big boost, smooth hangtime, upwind ability, grunty low-end and range.
So for 2016 that's what you get.

In the smaller sizes, the kites feature a lower aspect ratio, making them stable in higher and gusty wind.
In the middle sizes, the kites focus is a smoother turning feel and jumping stability.
In the large sizes, the kites feature a higher aspect for better jumping and smoother low end power delivery.
And the 16m, has replaced the 18m, and focuses on low end power.

If your the all round freerider that loves being powered and boosting jumps, the new REBEL won't disappoint.

Make sure you see your local dealer for a demo or catch us on our #thelocalstour demo tour.

Looking forward to getting on a Rebel this year, Although I am on Neos now my 7 years on Rebels was the best, I still miss them and what they offer, super boost, hang time, massive wind range, the only reason I went to Neos was to get more out of my kite on waves.

Go Rebel :)

I rode Rebels from the first release 2007 and rode every year until 2014 and I truly loved these kites, each year they improved them and I stuck with them for all they offered. They run 5th line offering what you need if you are a 5 line rider, the kite is super stable, cuts through gusts like a knife, has an incredible wind range and boosts huge and hang time is endless. Its very efficient and suits a free ride, flat water or smaller chop waves, ramp waves and for those who just need low end grunt, speed and love to jump. The kite is stable and reliable and suits standard metro type conditions perfectly - if you are trying to throw down massive freestyle moves then you would need to look at Dice 4 line IMO.

The Rebel kite, like most of the North range, have very unique features such as the bungee on the wing tips to pull the lines inside the canopy so that they don't hook on the tips when its hit the water, also this feature means that if you slack line in the air you still have steering and as you get used to that feature you cannot go back, for me its actually one of the main reasons I stick with North, This bungee feature becomes a true feeling of use that you cannot get with a hard lined only pigtail and the more you ride and use it them more you want it. The Rebel 5th line offers full single line release safety, but if you ride waves then for me a four line kite is the preference. You don't want the kite to roll in medium to big surf, thats not what the Rebel is for.

My change to Neos was based on needing a specific free-ride, wave kite, otherwise I would not have changed over. I see that each year the kites are refined for less snag points for lines and more streamlined features for easier water relaunch.

The depower rope for me is the choice, I like a rope that performs as a loose flexible system, I am glad North have not gone to plastic as for me its stiff and lack the feel of rope as it can be stiff and sticks - I have never really had wear issues and wash sand out of the rope each use, others use a bit of wax on the line which keeps it in good order. For me its the best system, the safety release is second to none.

Cant wait to get onto my new kites
