Board : cabrinha spectrum 140

Hi I'm new to kiteboarding. I live in perth and was hoping to get some advise on a 2 kite quiver.
I have an 8m north rebel which I love and has a big wind range and was thinking of getting a 2013 LF envy 12m. Ive read up some reviews on the envy but haven't found much on the 12m.
I also have an 11m crossbow which I don't like and was hoping to get some info on the 12m envy is it a fast turning kite and is the wind range chart for the Envy just a rough guid or is it pretty spot on because it says 9-22knots.
The reason I'm asking about this set up is because I want that range of wind to play with between the envy and the rebel and the turning speed from them both.
Or is there another set up?

Well Mr freeze glad you asked...I have ridden the new Envy (and the new NRG) with 3 others at the time, nice stable platform. It's not a fast turning kite though and nor is the NRG.

Hmmmmm interesting...

Know nothing about the Envy...only ever seen one at the beach

If you are happy with the 8 then try and get a rebel in a bigger size, when your starting out swapping between different kites is a PITA as they all handle differently, you'll spend atleast 10-15mins each time you swap getting used to the different kite

the 2013 is certainly not a fast turner. Very stable platform and grunty
wont get you going in 9 knots tho maybe 12 with the right board

Thanx guys so what about a rebel in 13m or is that a truck in the sky? Or maybe an 11m?

What type of riding do you want to do? Rode the 11m rebel through 2012/13 nice kite but yes it is a little 'slower' than some because of its aspect and design. But it will give you a huge wind range....

Hey mate, for what it's worth, i use my 9m envy from 17knots to 22ish then switch to my 7m which gets hard to handle before 30knots but that when it's quite gusty. I weigh 75kg. I got it as my first kite and they've been very good so far, no issues on either kite.

My gripes with the envy are:
-Long depower throw, you need long arms! although there is a stopper.
-Slow response, this is useful for learning though and unhooking not that it's much of an unhooking kite.
-Under the bar depower, can be hard to pull sometimes.

As a beginner in perth you should try stick to the seabreezes imo, 18knots and up is when it gets good! Otherwise you'll just get frustrated. Maybe look at a 10/11m kite for around 20knots and get your 8m out when it starts pumping.

I'm just into wave and freestyle/free ride eppo. So you rode the 11m rebel what would you say is the fastest turning 11m+ kite with best bottom end is eppo?

Thanx Kevok I'm actually surprised with how fast I picked up the basics. I'm just wanting to find a good set up of kites to get me going in small winds from 10knots +. The only reason I asked about the envy was because of the wind range chart they put up which is bogus from what I hear.
