Started kiting back in 98-99 (i think) 2 line Wipika free air 6 m with surf board

Gave it up for quite a few years needless to say the 2 line kites were not that much fun

kiting the last 4 years on F-One M5, sling shot fuel, north rebel, Evo, Neo, and now Vegas

So far my only fault with the vegas has been the upwind ability (not too bad) and the fact it looks like somebody has chewed on a box of crayons and then chundered on the kite

I have found this kite to be absolutely awesome in the surf, downwinders and stationary on the break. So far i haven't found a kite that drifts anywhere near as well, unreal for looping and when the wind gets up the de-power doesn't change the dynamics on the kite (one of my issues with the EVO/NEO ) and it never looks close to back stalling.

I Have done multi downwinders on the sunny coast in 4-5 ft surf, had it down margs in 6-8 ft surf at boat ramps .The kite really excels when you get on the wave and your riding it and want little to no input form the kite until its time to get out the back again.

Has anyone else ridden the kite in decent surf ??????

I demoed a Vegas only the other day, but before this read numerous emails from Vegas riders ( who have also flown a number of kites like you, including the rebel and evo in the north line) and they kept saying the same thing you have.

This surprised me, initially I thought "yeh right, whatever, not designed for this, never heard this before". But time and again different riders were saying the same thing.

So the demo only involved on shore Scarborough stuff so hard to really determine myself, but one thing is true, they do drift much better than say the rebel. The instant turning abili without the slight pivot stall also allows sharper turns on the wave.

Yes I'm glad you posted this as the first I heard of these feature for the Vegas was during the marathon BWS vs rebels post!! More should be said.

Wind was marginal, so glad it behaves as the wind picks up, the rebels pull gets hard to deal with in it's upper wind range.
