Hey bro's.

I want to here from those dudes that have switched from 2012 c4 to 2013 cat. particularily the 10m size.

what is your call? old c4 or new cat what do you prefer.

on a side note how much faster and more dynamic is the 5 strut edge compared to the old 7 strut. I loved my 2010 11m but it was abit average going down wind. I'd like to here from dudes who have flown the 2013 9m edge and 2012 10m c4 and make a comparison if possible.

As some of you know I upgraded from 2011 10m c4 to 2013. but i don't like the increased bar pressure of the 2013... so its gone.

On the table for option at the mo are all 10m size 2013 edge, 2012 c4 and 2013 cat.

yo plummet, ozone have done themselves out of business on this one, the ten would be the perfect size doing away with the 9 and 11, imo the hasnt been a huge amount of difference between the current edges and the 2011s, but the was a big step up from the 2010s, the newer models are a much more refined ride, much quicker and more dynamic, they arnt the perfect wave kite but drift a lot better than the 2010s due to lighter strut configuration, if you go the say the 2012s and get the aramid bridles which cost approx $100 itll bring it close to 2013 specs, the newer models depower a lot more, boosting is improved and sublime gust control, youll have to be carefull on size choice if you putting it alongside a c4 10 , if it existed id say an edge 8 would give the same horsepower as c4 10, for one handed riding the edge just seems to sit where you want unmoved, also really lets you lean into it which i love, you can scream upwind with your kite locked in 200mms off the water and it doesnt budge, so more time concentrated on you riding , reading your posts on what you want and how you ride id say youd be a DOG with 2 dicks on this kite

Hi Plummet, the new Catalysts rock. Compared to the 2012 C4s I'd note the following differences -

The Cats have a bit more power size for size

The Cats depower more at the bar

The Cats relaunch quicker

The Cats drift way better

The 2012 C4s are a bit more responsive to edging

The C4s have more power/drive through all except the widest loops

The C4s are more stable when unhooked and can be positioned a bit more precisely in the window

They both boost really well, but the C4 requires more precision to get good glide and soft landings.

I've been traveling and stuffing about so apologies for lack of review. Will remedy that this morning.

Well my bro and I just had an 4 hr session at wedge on our 9m pure free ride and fun. Big boosts riding waves in just insane. We are sitting at Cervantes now in need of a chicken burger !

I will say it again I reckon you'll be too underdone on a 10m cat. You want power you want an edge. But keep tapping into djodjo I rate his opinion.

Yo plummet, if you used your old bar on the c4 it'll handle like a dog, the c4 2013 has its own specific bar that's supplied with the kite, you can use an old bar but it'll need a fair amount of alterations, also if you dig franz olrys style check out , alkita.fr , for some wicked boards, I saw him Kiting in France a while back ,you'd do well trying to ride like him , a very smooth rider, Mark shinn is another rider you watch if that's your style

I'm at up at shack Internet hit and miss so can't watch your video plummet. You have a 15m speed and a 13m edge. You obviously like the apparent wind and power. The edge is like a foil for me but without the hang ups. Dialed it in for the first time yesterday and my bro and had a session that was right up there in the top five ever. Also really worked out how to use it in the waves. but you like to drop aspect for a more dynamic feel in those mod range winds. The 9 and the 11 is very different to the 13 the 9m really dynamic. The 11 does start to lose the ease and dynamic ness but it is still there. The 10m would be an ideal kite especially on the fast turning settings. I ride the 9m on the middle setting a way fast enough. honestly I've read and reread your needs and the edge 10m would be ideal. It would start really early and I am yet to find the top end of the 9m!

Watched ya vid plummet as promised. Mmm yeh probably the catalyst watching that. Or the wainmen a truly great all rounder.

My only concern is at your weight you might be underdone until 20 knots.

Djodjo might set you right on that. He's 78 but you are a bit. More than that. But you do have a decent mutant so might be comparable.

Yeh ignore what I said you need a really fast drifting kite to do what the guy in the vid does.

Yep cat.

The 2013 C4 flies fine on a 2012 50cm bar, I've done it on our 12M and hardly noticed any difference for hooked in riding. The only difference is the depower is longer, and the chicken loop is smaller, but this made no difference for hooked in riding and boosting.
If you want to unhook a lot, then the 2013 bar is better.

Hi,
I would like to buy a reo 6m and a 10m c4 both 2012 with one bar.
I post my question here because you are talking about ozone bar.

The depower line seems to be shorter on the c4 than the classic water control system. Is it even true in 2012? only one depower line lengh in 2012? should i take the c4 or the reo complete?
I will only replace the bar stick with a north to have a double size bar.

beside the new cat 10m seems good. what about the top end? the review said they are powerfull this year.

going back to my frenzy this week end,
regards from france

I owned a 2012 12m C4 and own a 2012 11m Edge. The 2012 C4 had a fair bit more bar pressure than the Edge, too much for my liking. Haven't flown the 2011 or 2013 C4s so can't compare bar pressure between them.

cut 2 mtrs off your lines and adjust your knot setting on your bar
