I'm debating between a 2012 LF envy and a 2013 Cabrina Chaos, both 9m. The price difference is $250 with the cabrina being near new and the envy in great condition. Basically I just really want the most stable progressive kite for me. If you have flown both or either kite your feedback would be awesome.
I'm hoping to test fly the LF Envy when the wind is next right but the Cabrina is in a different state so would just have to buy it and cross my fingers.
Thanks!
I use the LF envy! great all round kite and even better for beginners. Super stable and re-launchers like a dream... anddd with the Liquid Force max flow you can pump up your kite twice as fast whichhh... = more time on the water!! ![]()

I have an envy. love it.. never flown the cabrina so cant comment on that one. value for money LF is hard to pass up.
Go for the Envy its a bullet proof kite next to the Cab. We use Envy's in our school and they are excellent for beginner to advanced, its a fun kite and once you use the Max - flo you will never want to use another pump system again.....it literally changed my life!
Carnt fault Lf build quality, the envy is a more allrounder compared to the chaos wich is more c orientated, one downer is the below bar depower it gets pretty sticky when powered up, just be aware it needs a bit of a yank
I currently ride a 2012 Vegas, but have owned 2011 Envy's and ridden the 2013 Chaos. The Envy is a solid kite. Well built and easy to ride. It unhooks very nicely for a bridled kite and bar feed back is great. On the other hand it is slow to initiate the turn and doesn't boost all that well. I've heard the 2014 is quite quite different to previous versions though.
The 2013 Chaos I only tried in 7m in 25 to 30 knots in Sri Lanka. This kite I will seriously consider next time I buy. Most fun I've had on a kite. Very nice bar feedback, quick turning, but not heavy. Feels awesome unhooked given how windy it was. Great boost and hangtime. Better than Vegas for me. Neither loop as nice as the Vegas though. Chaos loops more exciting than Envy though.
Take my comments for what they are. I only tried the Chaos once in butter flat but quite gusty conditions. For what it's worth the Cabrinha construction for 2013 seemed to be in line with the rest of the market. I've never owned a Cabrinha before because previous models never seemed as well made and just weren't my style of kite. The chaos is a different thing all together.
Just realised I missed the bit where you said beginner. Of those two options go the Envy. Great kite for beginner. Predictable and forgivable. Easy relaunch.
