My Comments:

First thoughts: i first tried this kite in 13-17 gusty conditions, when I first got it out i was very impressed about the durability and attention to detail, it was up there with my ozone catalyst. The kite wasnt as stable in super gusty conditions as the catalyst but was still very controllable. It has very floaty jumps as long as you send it, and loops like a machine!

I have taken this kite in as low 10 knots with a flowing tide and still managed to produce enough power to stay upwind. I have gone up to 25 knots in gusty conditions doing super floaty jumps and insane board offs.

What I did like: The quality and attention to detail, Airush have made a bomb proof kite.
The Smart Bar system has very easy quick release and is easy to put back together while on the water.
The unhooked performance of this kite is exceptional and produces lots of pop, making it easy to pass the bar.

What I didn't like: Check your line lengths occasionally to prevent back-stalling
Could be a little more stable in gusty winds but is definitely better than most kites.

Overall: I am really happy with this kite and it has rapidly improved my progression. Feel free to personal message me to arrange a demo or drop into the shop. You will not be disappointed!

Good winds coming your way!

I've been out on the 13m race, and both 10 and 12m varial x. I absolutely loved them. The race wasn't really my thing, but it was good for a 12-14 knot day. I don't tend to bother riding when I'll need to ride a 12m kite (as I find them slow and boring), however I was pleasantly surprised with the Varial X. The 10 however was sick. I'm pretty sure next season I'll be replacing my 9m Naish with an 8m Varial X.

Whilst I like the idea of the extendible bar and it was good the kite came with line extensions, I didn't really like the bar. I found the finger grooves on the bar annoying. I'd also much prefer below the bar depower.
