/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif
The Nobile 2HD is an exceptional and unrivaled mix of technological advancement. Super speed and explosive pop! Taking what is essential in hydro and aerodynamics, Nobile have developed a uniquely designed double-profiled bottom.
This one of a kind shape has been created to bring the most performance to advanced riders. The result is the fastest and best performing board in the Nobile range. The Nobile 2HD is even that good it may easily compete with race boards! A twin-tip faster than a traditional race board? It has to be the Nobile 2HD!
Over 70% of the earth's surface is covered by water. 70% is also the amount of 2HD's hydrodynamic base profile. Inside a flatter profile makes the board extremely fast (less water resistance) and increases longitudinal stability. The other 30% of the 2HD's surface is an outside deeper rocker. It increases versatility and edge grip. What is more, it also dramatically reduces unwanted spray in choppy water, makes you ride smoother easier and more comfortable.
To reduced unwanted spray - Nobile have re-designed their unique Hydrodynamic Rocker Line to increase the tip lift. Nobile have also tweaked the heel-side outline and moved the footstrap inserts to ensure minimal interference with water release on the rail - a major cause of spray.
Versatility has been enhanced by utilizing Nobile's new Dynamic Asymmetrical Outline. Focusing mainly on the toe-side edge, means that the test winning rail grip, early planing and upwind ability of the Nobile 2HD range still remains.
The new mold allows Nobile to add more flex into the fin areas of the board without effecting the central nose and tail sections that are responsible for the higher performance characteristics. Nobile have also added a high gloss UV stable top foil to the board to ensure it's good looks last forever.
Double Hydro Dynamic (2HD) is also loaded with Nobile Pre-Stress technology. During the production process, Nobile "freeze and store" the energy in the board construction. This energy is then for your disposal just when you need it. It benefits with more pop, fast reaction, better grip, maneuverability and anything you want to use it for. This technology also allows Nobile to make the 2HD lighter than ever. Nobile has also added another new Pop Grower technology for sky-high jumps.

Wow there is some bright colours in those boards, cant wait to try the 2HD. Fast with good pop, thats my style cant wait to ditch the NHP and get on one![]()

Looks like the channels in the 50/50 on top of the board are still there, i thought they would have improved that after the flack they coped last year. But a great board IMO. I'm keeping my 50/50 this year best board i have ever used.
The wood skim is going to be a nice cheap light wind option, im not sure about the skateboard grip, i had some bad injuries from sailing, i wonder weather your going to have to use the wake skate style shoes??
Like all Nobile boards you can guarantee they will look great when you actually see one, and they will be as tough as nails. by the look of them your not going to loose one this year![]()

There sure is a lot of boards in there range this year, definitely worth a demo. I hope the prices continue to come down a bit last years weren't to bad but hopefully with the strong AU$ they may be comparable to the other top boards in the $950-$1000 range![]()
Yeah that 2HD looks like it might be a good allrounder.
Hopefully it has a rocker line more like the 09 666.
Still love my NHP for what you can get away with on powered landings.
Agree on the 50 deck Waxy.. they shoulda addressed that one but obviously the majority are not worried about it or just ride it strapped.
I thought Nobile left a big hole in there range last year when they got rid of the original 666 design for the high rocker NHP, and was hoping this gap would be filled. I hope the 2HD is the ticket.
Your right about the NHP, the board does take hard landings very well coming out of powered loops etc has never been smoother and is a lot better on the body. But i really just missed the little extra speed the 09 666 had.
Nobile are going to have a lot of competition this year with companies like Cardboards who also have a great warranty this year and a great product and australian made with a good price, and Crazy Fly with there sick looking carbon boards and even FOne everyone that tried there boards last year were very impressed especially with the acid.
So definitely interesting times ahead, the 2HD sounds interesting and quite unique so looking forward to testing it out along with all of the other boards this year.![]()
So it wasn't just me that read the description of the 2HD and though... '09 666 with a bit of picklefork mixed in just so they can call it something different?
I'm still loving my '09 666, but it can be a bit rough on the knee's with so little rocker.
Love the graphics of the Flying Carpet.......
The T5, 2HD NBL and the Girls NHP are very BLING!
I hate the look of the new NHP, XTR and 50/50
Purple/browns! it just won't go with my other kit!
I not upgrading my NHP for those colours.
^^^ It's good to see nobile listen to there customers to deliver what they want.![]()
Is Nobile trying to tell us there isn't going to be any wind this year, 4 light wind options is a lot, and thats not including the big T5 which is also a good light wind board.

Whats next, race board, surfboard sup?
What about the foot straps, does anyone know anything about the foot straps?
They were a talking point last year, you either loved them or hated them, probably more of the latter. I didn't mind them but with the straps slipping while there new, and then causing the pad to try and rip your toes off locking your big toe to the board in a big crash sure left me with some very sore toe nails. I did break the strap after 4 months but would admit they did a great job to survive that long being so skinny. If they made it a stronger strap with velcro adjust i think it would be better strap and feel better on the foot.![]()
In the vid it looks to be the same, but lets hope Nobile have made some changes, or there may be a lot of boards ordered without straps this year.
^^^^Thats what i'm talking about, nobile listen to problems and they get it fixed, pads look great![]()

Hi guys,
Check out the Nobile blog nobilekiteboarding.wordpress.com/
You can find there more infos about products, riders and events.
While waiting for new web site, that is going to start any day now, check out the 2011 IFS PRO: nobilekiteboarding.wordpress.com/2010/10/05/new-ifs-pro-sneak-peek/
Nobile has thankfully not changed the shape at all on the 50-50 or the NHP. I ride finless a lot on these boards and when I put fins in only 35mm on the heelside. These obards bite like a pitbull whether on flatwater or chop. The NHP is a very fast board if you like to edge and you have the right one. I weigh 85kgs and the 131 is perfect, unless you are over 95kgs you will not generate enough edge on the 134.
Pre-stress technology: These boards are designed to flex one way. Due to boards becoming shorter and wider in recent years, it means stances are very wide in relation to board length and flex is critical. Many boards on a powered landing flatten and almost convex on landing. This makes landings hard and back foot heavy to not be thrown foward.
The pearl, metallic graphics look amazing on the NHP and the 50-50 has gone the ripped skate-deck look. dont be fooled by the jpegs.
I had access to over 15 boards to ride last summer 131x40 NHP.
In regards to the straps they were very comfortable and didnt fall off. They were and still are designed to be worn with booties. (Burton snowboards and Nobile are made in the same polish factory). In WA there were 6 failed straps that showed up to the shop I was managing and all were due to manufacturing error, a double stitch was missed at a refinforcement point and the strap failed. buying a high end board, means they were relpaced that day. You will pay $100 more for a comparable board, but the service in my experience and a 3 year warranty.![]()
2010 NHP is not a fast board at all, it is a slug to get on the plane and up to a good speed, and is no where near as fast as the 50/50 due to the massive increase in rocker, the 2009 NHP was a way better board.
Learners love the 2010 NHP for this reason, if they are having trouble edging and controlling a board you put them on the NHP, they cant generate the speed to loose control as easily and with the massive fins they come with track like a train.
With the big increase in rocker it feels like you are ridding a smaller board so is definitely worth trying one that is bigger than your normal board. I would suggest a 134 for anyone over 80 kgs but have also seen litter riders prefer this board over there smaller one. In stock form with original fins the board isn't hard to edge at all it is quite the oposite
As Dave has said, he doesn't ride the board with the original fins, or rides with no fins so has a different opinion to how the board handles, most riders wont change anything so doesn't really apply.
I do prefer ridding the NHP in bad choppy overpowered conditions where you are going to land hard and fast and want to do loops etc the board does soak up the landings very well just got to land strait in the direction your going or you are going to get punished as it wont slide even a bit, smaller or no fins would help.
I did manage to break a strap, and it wasn't a missed line of stitching, the piss weak little band they called a strap broke in half, very surprised the buckle that looked equally as week didn't break first, but the design they have this year looks a lot better.
Once you get used to getting the NHP up to speed the pop is great for all of your freestyle tricks, if you ride more wakestyle you are going to like the 50/50 better. All the nobile boards i have ever ridden are very user friendly and are generally kind to the body, knees, hips, back and ankles will thank you for ridding a quality board. It's a good idea to demo any board you are thinking of buying, there is a large differance between every board in the nobile range demo, demo, demo
For me now it's off to the shed to take the fins off my NHP and chuck on a pair of 35mm fins to see if i can get a bit livelier ride out of it, will be interesting to see if it matches up with my new Tempo which seems to be a great board with good speed and built more for wakestyle, doesn't land as soft in the chop but for the flat water i ride should be perfect, plus it has a 3 year warranty and is made in Australia, costs a lot less than the nobile and build quality is up there with some of the best boards i have ridden ![]()
^^^^^^good description and great review on the way it lands. I'm pushing 39, and love to ride powered. I cannot get the NHP to lose an edge at top speed,... too much to do any thing but a kiteloop, no matter the fin configuration.
Waxman is on the money about the top end, there are faster boards, but none handle as well in the chop, and managable speed is important as top end.
Finless today, butterslide pressed for 20-40 meters into kiteloop transition to heelslide. got it wired today at woodies, feels cool as S***.
As far as teaching on it, I was the same, light girls/guys would have better control with board speed. 65kg girl on a conventional 134 kept losing and edge, gave her my 131 and she rode for 500 meters first go.of course with 55mm fins. Boards come with 35,45,55mm and its just about the amount of chop at your local.
With many hours on the 2010 131 Nobile NHP, I would say that this board is anything but sluggish and slow....then again I could be doing something wrong. I will use this board in all but extremely light winds, as it performs exceptionally well. I use 35mm fins which could be the reason for experiencing a fast early planing board. With the smaller fins the board is very loose when ridden flat, so much that you can slide onto toeside without having to pop onto toeside. When loading up an edge the board has an amayzing hold, even in the sloppiest of conditions. If you are looking for a board which has an incredible amount of control in all water conditions, offers plenty of speed, and is very forgiving (probably even more so with 55mm fins), then 2010 NHP is the one.
Dave...
Totally agree. Noticed a review from a rider above having issues with early planning and board speed and could only think that maybe the stock 55m fins could be giving him problems due to the increased drag incurred with larger fins. I guess there are many other factors one has to consider if the rider is having issues ie riders experience level, rider riding style, kite used, kite model, wind strength, sea state, board size used, etc etc. Also if a rider is coming off a very fast board such as the Nobile 666 then I could see that there will be an adjustment period when riding a board with a different design such as the NHP 2010.
Very impressed to hear that some beginners like the NHP, but then again how could they not, with the incredible control offered from this board. The NBL and T5 in my opinion are a slightly better choice for the beginner and intermediate due to the effortless upwind angles achieved from these boards. Staying upwind tends to be one of the hurdles newcomers to the sport struggle with, especially in lighter wind conditions.
Finally received our order today! They look 10x better in real life than in those pictures. Come try one at Kitepower (Sydney) whenever you like.
Peace
Hi Lads
Am about to get NHP 2011 in 131/40 or 134/42
Which size do You think would be better for me?
I weight 75 kg and moving pretty much from intermediate to advanced
Riding 4 years
Cheers
I just swapped from a 2009 NHP 134 to a 2010 NHP 134. I'm ~80kg and 6'3" and 134 feels small enough on my feet with the wider stance setup that i've never really wanted the smaller board. The only times i've ever thought the smaller board would be better suited are those 30+kn days and kiteloop sessions.
Can you demo them?
had the first ride on me new 2hd the other day. initially got the nhp but swapped it after 2 uses cos i came off the 09 nhp(666) and cant really do any tricks anyway so thought the board was too freestyle for me. the 2hd is really springy to ride and great in small surf and choppy conditions, bit softer on the ol knees and really fun. there, that should answer all those questions
My 2011 NHP 132/42 arrived today after a long long wait!! Looks everybit the part! The new IFS pads and straps are a huge development on the horrible ones last year! They are really comfortable and grab onto my feet!
If the board rides half as good as it looks, its going to be amazing!
