Please,

wich would be the Griffin Chimera 6.5 wind range for a 80 kg rider?
and for a 50 Kg rider?

Somebody has tested it in more than 35-40 knots?

Thanks for your comments!

Only flown the Chimera in a 10.5m sorry but was very comfortable in 25knt.
I think @ 80kg you will breeze it in but for the 50kg rider it will depend on experience and other factors

I have had the 8 and 10.5 Chimera since first introduced both are excellent kites.
Have been on Griffin kites since 2009 and the Chimera for me is by far the best.

To help answer your question I agree that it depends on experience/skill however I am a very experienced kiter with average skill and have flown the 8m Chimera in the very low 40kns comfortably, I weigh 78 kg and am 64 years old/young.

Excellent safe kites for twin tip and surfboard for down the line kiting as well.

I have too a 8 and 10.5 Chimera, but I've never flown yet the 8m, because I'm riding really comfortably the 10.5 from 10-11 knots to more than 25 knots using always a race-board (30m lines in 10-12knts and 25 for 12+). I'm 70 kg. So I suppose that the top end of 6.5 would be really high --> I think it could be a really good option for a girl of ~ 50 Kg (not so experience) using it from 20-25 knots (top end higher when more experienced) and his boyfriend of ~ 80 kg (experienced rider) using it in 35+.

I'm interested in riders experience with this kite (6.5m) because I couldn't find any information about it anywhere, and at the moment there is no information about Chimera in Griffin Official Web (waiting anxiously for it).

Thanks!

On the 8m I can go to over 40 knots with out issue for 85kg rider.

6.5 would have more top end and better suited for a 50kg rider.

Chimeras have a lot of de-power and power.

I am working on a 5m and 3m chimera at the moment for my 6 year old.....

THANKS for your always GREAT and fast attention on-line!!!

I have on the net some GPS tracks with Chimera 10.5 (and 2010 Argo 13.5) if someone could be interested on them. I'll make shortly some trials with different lenght lines, that could be interesting too.

All my best,

Alex

I got a couple of 6.5 chimeras in just before christmas ,one for me (95kg) and one for my team rider (60kg) .The 6.5 blew me away its ultra quick and stable ,i first took it out in 18-25 to see how it would go down low and was blown away by the low end ,while i was out it cranked up to around 40-45 and was still looping it carving on the wave faces, its the ultimate high wind kite in my opionion,i wouldnt want to be on anything else so much fun its contagious.
