Please, any comment about Chimera 13?

Somebody has tested it in low wind? What about bottom end and upwind perfomance? What about upwind perfomance comparing with Argo 13.5?

I'm 75kg and I'm actually using an Argo 2010 13.5 with long lines for low wind in course racing in Spain (bottom end 8-9 knots using a 175x48cm standard race board).

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Chimera 13 or 13,5 : i do not have the exact information.
And here i "ctrl c" another post that has no reply yet, about the chimera and the Argo :

"hi guys,

I m cyr, from France.
first of all, i already have a 7m Griffin (2009), a 12 m (2010), and my board size is 134 cm.
My weight is 80 kg.
Hard to believe, but i already cannot change my 7m, as i use it from 17k to ... (where is the limit ?...).
My 12 m is incredible (i had a 10,5 of 2009 before), as i start around 12k without loosing field, meters, against the wind (orry for my english...).

So, after having tried many kite in the last 4 years, i m defenitly in love with Griffin (my programm : freeride and old school).
YOU MUST TRY THIS BRAND to believe it.

QUESTION TO Mr Griffin :
I m looking for a kite for light wind (from 8 to 15k) : when wind is light, i love to try new tricks, and go riding on flat water.
Must i choose a Griffin 2011, in 14 ou 16 ?
Must i choose an Argo 2011 in 13,5
Must i choose a new Chimera in 13, with a surf ? No information in France about the Chimera, and i m quite curious ?

Thx a lot

nice forum guys,
"

I should be able to help here,i have a full quiver of 2011 Chimera,6.5,8,10.5 and 13,
have spent the last few months on these kites and the 011 argo's in 10,11.5 and 13.5.
The two kites are totally different ,the argo is a great allrounder but more for the surf rider super stable and bucketloads of grunt, the Chimera is also a great allrounder and is quicker in the loops, more of an atv kite ,both kites have awesome boost and float,if your looking for a low end grunter then the 13.5 argo is the pick, but if i compared the 13 Chimera with the 12 griff the chimera wins hands down in any category, get a demo if you can ,love these kites.

Hi, the 13.5 Argo has better bottom end because it is more low aspect.

The 13m Chimera in light wind is good, but the Argo is more powerful.
Chimera has excellent up wind and wind range.

QUESTION TO Mr Griffin :
I m looking for a kite for light wind (from 8 to 15k) : when wind is light, i love to try new tricks, and go riding on flat water.
Must i choose a Griffin 2011, in 14 ou 16 ?

134 at 80kg, I would suggest the 13.5m Argo. It nearly has the power of the 16m Griffin but turns faster and de powers well and relaunches well with the D shape, good for when you mess up a trick and more fun.

The 16m griffin has more bottom end but feels like a bigger kite than the 13.5Argo

Only 2 more questions to Chris:

-would be Chimera information soon in your web?

-could you post a picture or scheme of non-pulley kit bridal connection and Chimera bridal settings?

Thanks,

Alex

thx mr Griffinkite!
I gona take a 13,5 Argo, as my priority is light wind! Even if i m curious about the chimera !!!
so i will probably change my 12 griffin, later, for a 10 Chimera !!!

looking forward to try these new kites !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations for your work ! As i already love my 12 Griffin (and said to my friends i would never change it before i break it), i cannot imagine how great can be the Chimera after reading these posts !!!
And thx for your reply ! Great, from France, to be able to ask questions to someone who design the kites i love !!!

Hi Comandor,

wich spots are you kiting on normally in France? Maybe near Sete or Leucate?

I have a Chimera 8 and 10.5 if you want to try. I live in Spain near Sant Pere Pescador and sometimes go kiting to France.

Sure you'll love Argo 13.5!!!

Otherway, really you are wright. I think this could be one of the few brand you could talk directly to the dessigner ang exchange impressions with him... and he is really taking care of all the comments that appears in forums... Kites really focused on the customer!!!

Please Chris, could you post some picture or scheme of Chimera non-pulley bridal kit connection? I have'nt tried yet. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION!!

I heard so much about Leucate . Next year, i will try to move with my company, to work close to Montpellier...

See ya
