My Comments:
I finally persuaded Andy from Slingshot to let me try the new 2010 Slingshot Fuel.
Today was a wave day but really wanted to see how well the kite did in such conditions. Wind was cross off 18 gusting 28, sets were 2 foot and the sun was out.
Out the bag the Fuel looked the business. Really well built with a few added bumpers than previous models. The graphics are really good, one thing that Slingshot always stood out for. The one-pump is still the best in the business. There are only two set up options - wake and freestyle. I chose WAKE as this would have given me a bit more grunt. The one thing I did notice was that the 2010 Fuel is slighty lower aspect that the 2009 so sits a bit further back in the window. With 4 lines water relaunch is really simple.
In the sky the one thing I did notice was how stable it was. It just sat there waiting for your input to tell it what to do. Turning was super quick but saying this it was a 7 so I'd be more worried if it turned slowly. With the 2010 bar there is plenty of depower, will be different with the LEN10 Pro Bar as the throw isn't as far.
Once again Slingshot has stepped up to the plate and produced a C kite that will be hard to beat. LEN10 has worked his magic once again.
So to sum it up. The 2010 Fuel is a fantastic kite which is well suited for wave action as well as being a wakestyle machine. The bar was well accepted by all who previously or currently ride SS. The bar is a big part of the package and SS have nailed this one.
Looking forward to the action tomorrow as we have big waves and 35 knots forecast. ![]()
Sure will WAXY, plus the new Lunacy and hopefully a Darkside too. Not long to go now. Get pumped for a killer weekend ![]()
