Anyone got any Pics, I have seen the brochure but from what i hear they dont do the boards justice.
Hey BOSSSTYLE, how do you think the juigi will handle a bit of surf ridding it looks like it has around the right profile shape to be fairly good for carving.
back to the 50fifty, anyone other than waxman and bossstyle ridden one?
there was a lot of mud-throwing back and forth in this thread but after four pages we only had input from two guys who'd ridden the things. curious how they're going for others.
i got to try the 139 fifty, the 134 '010 NHP and by the end of the day i tried a '09 NHP. All using straps.
I normally ride a Cab Custom shaped board.
First, Dont know if Shinn leaving nobile has anything to do with it, but 2010 nobile improved a lot if you ask me. I think nobile riders stepping up to nobile 2010 boards will be really happy with them. The FLAT '09 boards are awful, maybe they work in the flats, but definitely limits the riding in chop & landings .
Second, Im confused about the 2010 boards. Seems like they took the wakestyle characteristics of a board and devided them into NHP and fifty. NHP got the width and rocker. Fifty the length and rounder outline.
Think the fifty is still too catchy on the tips, landings were a little strange due to the flex...
NHP is a nice freestyle board, take a bigger size than last year.
Riding either boots or straps, i think rocker is the way to go. Far less limitation when riding hard, landing, carving, chop, waves.
Rocker allows for a stiffer board > rocker softens landings.
There is only 1 downside. Rocker is not efficient.
Luckily that problem can be solved by taking a bigger board.
Bigger boards mean better landings, more pop.
Putting on boots means you can size up even more, even better landings, even better pop.
Cab Custom, amen
Im impressed with the performance of the board, it feels much like my 10' NHP. The flex def helps my 30 y.o knees. I have not ridden that many pure "wakestyle" boards but I didn't enjoy the stiffer boards out there, maybe that will change with progression.
I have the 140 and have some Ronix Ones fitted, The deck not being flat under the boots left me unimpressed... it's meant to be wakestyle board??? Making nylon shims and trying to attach them to your new $700 boots with out damaging them or the board was fun. The boots rock back and forth on the deck due to the 2-3mm gap under each end.
Some people say you cannot feel it when riding and not to worry about it...?
After bolting my boots on another board and going back to mine.... I can feel it.
Nobile Intll have now said that I should just use foam under the heel/toe to fill the 3mm gap. Aust Nobile dealer didn't bother getting back to me on the issue except that he will honor warranty If I pull an insert, one major plus.
Maybe Nobile could provide some proper shaped sticky back high-density foam with the board for the people that are using boots?
Id say its a great board for Straps... if you want a board for Boots I'd look elsewhere unless your prepared to do some home engineering. For these $ you shouldn't have too.... it aint a cheap board.
My Slingshot boots dont seem to rock at all as far as i can tell, they must have a diferent mounting plate shape or something to the ronix. there is no gap at the heal or toe?
Good to see that nobile will give waranty on a pulled insert if using boots. Thats good backup for a board with 3 years waranty and that is going to realy cop some abuse.
My bet though is that nobile will make it flat on the 2011 boards to make it easyer to fit any set of boots.
I will have to have a closer look. What is the best foam to use is a thin high density foam going to work best?
Just did mine with some foam and took it out this arvo for 2 hrs, seems all good so far.
I found some 6mm thick X 40mm wide fairly High-D foam rubber with a sticky back already on it at Clark Rubber.
Cut it into the shape of my boot heel and toe avoiding the drains and stuck it to the deck.
Seems to squash up nicely on the deck coro's once you bolt the boots down, it's not as solid as the nylon I had in there but doesn't load up the skin on one point as much which I didn't like doing... maybe the foam will allow the board to flex laterally a little easier as its apparently designed to do?
I liked the 09 666 nhp as well. Have tested the luigi board again. It definitly has the nhp 09 feel and direction ability. The test one I have is the 130. It's to thin at 40 wide for my liking, wish they had had a 132 x 42 they could have sent. Will have to wait until my local shop gets one and have a demo of that before making a choice to buy.
I took it out in 25 knts wind back to back with my fifty 50. The water changed from awesome small fun clean waves to dead flat later In the day. Both boards wicked fun but because the 130 luigi was to small the fifty was my choice for best part ofthe day. I really love the fifty. I was thinking of trading it for a luigi but it is such a good board and so comfy and fun In any conditions I just couldn't do it!
May buy the luigi as well though once tested the 132 or maybe an nhp 09 again in the 134 either of which would accompany it nicely.
i had a closer look at one at KS and the thing just looked wrong...
it reminds me of the naish sol.. fairly square outline then booom crazy curve in the tips? wtf is up with that??... those corrugated tops are bound to cause frustration unless your lucky enough to have a foot size that allows for a boot that sits exactly on the tops of these said corregations...
that little bit of boot rock TREMENDOUSLY weakens your inserts... i was riding boards last season that had a similar problem and clean ripped both bindings completely off the deck in one crash.. i will keep said brand quiet.
I tried the 140 yesterday with my 9m RRD Obsession. Tried only a few runs. Maybe 15 minutes on super smooth water. It was with straps.
I normally ride RRD Poison 132 and Crazyfly Bulldozer 2010 135x41 with straps.
I was extremely positive. Never tried a non flat freestyle board before so can't compare to other wakestyle boards. But honestly, I never popped that high before in my raleys. It was avesome.
I will be looking for a board with more rocker. I would also think it would be better than my freestyle boards in chop ???
Question to original poster as I am same weight: What about the 141x43 size. Would that become to big with a)straps b) bindings?
From what I understand around here the bindings riders will ride p large boards like the LF Concept DLX 142
Sounds like you like the size you tried, the next size up will feel a lot bigger as the length is so long the area generated by adding width is a lot. I realy love the 140 it is a great allround board that is great in flat watter handles chop and best of all it rides fast and tracks well with those small fins.
In really light conditions(less than 15kts) i run with the straps it does help you keep the board flatter and increases the wind range, but when it is on the boots rulle!
If you can try the bigger board give it a go but i think that for your weight you will like the 140 better. Even with boots the board never feels to small, and with straps it doesnt feel to big. You have to love the way you can wind this board up and when you let it go you just fly like you are getting launched by a big spring
Just remember, if you have read the previous posts, if you run boots depending on what size and brand of boot you get you may get some rock i have a US 12 ss pb floyd bindings and there ok, but people with ronix have had some dramas, But this can be fixed by putting some High Density foam under the heal and toe. but well worth the effort.
If going for boots, I would probably go for LF Synergy boots.
However, as I hear that boots makes tricks more difficult and that you crash much harder, I don't think boots will be my thing right now.
A bit in doubt if the 50Fifty is the board for me when riding straps?
Very rarely totally flat water - almost always small to semi chop. 90 kg. wind: 15 knots to 30 knots.
To old to ever be a handlepass freestyler. But do do raley, s-bends, kiteloops. Ambition this season is raley to blind and a cleaner more real (horisontal) S-bend.
50Fifty og a Nobile freestyle board?
Was there a poster saying that the NHP also got more rocker?
The NHP has a lot of rocker and is a lot wider than the 50 fifty it is allso a bit stiffer, this makes the NHP ride a fair bit slower, it does handle chop better and it does land powered tricks better as long as the board is facing the right way when you land as it has fairly grippy fins a bit to grippy IMO.
I have a 134 nhp and it does feel a bit to small compared to the 134 666 i rode last year. It is a good board but i realy like the 50 fifty better even in chop. Just because it riders faster and is a little bit more skatey.
more rocker and wider? sounds a lot better as a whole, if u put smaller fins on it, it might be a good boots board and will be more skatey, get a 38 in that i would say
For sure some will claim something is wrong with my riding. How else to teach them it's my beach?

Generally not a problem though. I weight 92 kg (200 lbs?) + gear. Was riding a 12m in 16+ knots. Another guy on 13m struggling too. No really enough power for tricks etc.
Anyway. My question was the new higher rockered Nobiles compared to the very popular 2009 Nobile 555.
Thanks
Have had my Fifty 50 since their release. Great board and fantastic in 9m weather or good 12m weather when powered up as stated in my earlier posts. A real smile maker!
Also one of the bet twin tips i have found for wave riding and smoothest board i have ridden through choppy conditions. (smoother than the wainman blunt which is also a very smooth ride.)
If riding in lower wind conditions the 50 is harder work and upwind isn't so good due to the rocker. It is not as effecient as some other good all round boards. The 09 NHP was much more effecient in that area and though i love the 50 when it's decent wind i regret seling my 09 nhp for use in lower conditions.
I am currently looking for a smaller board for flat water and lower wind conditions.
Have also just bought a 2010 Spleene dooor for ultra light wind use and wow, well they rock! If you want a board that goes up wind when ever your kite is in the sky that board is the daddy. I dont think you could find a better twin tip that goes upwind any better and though very big they are extremely light and really agile too.
I have been so impressed with the spleene door 159 i am am trying to get a demo on an ht rs board and considering one of them for my smaller one.
That said my 50 will definitly be staying in my board quiver.
