Rider: 92kg,Level - Somewhere between beginner / intermediate
Style: strapless Surf,
Weather: 22-30 knots
Build: Keep it simple and light (which makes the kite perform very well)
Disclosure: Just a buyer

Well I was finally able to take out my NEW OS 7m kite on Saturday for a downwinder from City beach to Brighton.

The first downwinder was more of a get to know you session, Sh!t is this kite fast, it turns fast and flies forward fast. It took me a while to know when to turn the board after turning the kite, etc. The kite felt stable and very responsive in the 25+knots gusty wind, it recovered nicely after overflying it a couple of times (my mistake) - just dropping back into the wind window and off she went.

I dropped it once in the water and thought now is the time to try my hands at 5th line relaunch, looked down to find the 5th and when I looked up I was pleasantly surprised the kite was just touching the water with wingtip, by the way its not a delta shape either). The kite just wants to fly.

Down the line riding was no issue, the kites a lot quicker than what I am and I never got close to dropping the kite.

The second downwinder was much better, got dialed into the kite and got very confident with it. On my other kites I am always nervous loosing line tension - they just drop out the sky, not on this kite, like I said early, she justs wants to fly. She tends to stay where you put her until you pull on either end of the bar.

Bar pressure I would say is somewhere between low to medium leading more to medium. Turning speed is mind blowing. The depower is more than adequate with such a fast profile. The kite generates a lot of apparent power, just turn it and off you go.

After landing, a guy on the beach even remarked how quick the kite turned.

I am very stoked with this kite, it gives me opportunity to improve but still retain the confidence.

Cheers
Rich

Hey Getfunky,

Have not tried jumping it but definitely feels more boosty than my Nano's, why I say this is because if I turn it too fast or turn it while edging against it I get boosted. I think it is due to how fast this kite flies which I suppose the faster you go the more lift you generate.

I have not TT in a while but definitely keen to try when I have more time to play.

What happened to you on Saturday, saw you running down the beach but thought you must be OK if you are mobile. O yer by the way I lengthened my chicken loop line and mini 5th and found that I would invert the kite on releasing to safety.

Cheers
Rich
