No, we only have Nomad and CB IDSX for demo.
SB IDSX is for later release, the ones we saw and rode in Fiji were final production prototypes, but we were not able to bring any of these kites home they were all being sent off to somewhere else for demo and testing.
The kite, like all the models this year have had a lot of work done to the bridle and it is also a new and more refined profile in the canopy. There have been other structural changes to improve the durability of the kites even further (these are implemented across the range of cab models)
The kite defintely suits wake/unhooked style, but aslo has a much tighter/faster turn initiation with solid power in the turns, it is still a 5 strut kite. This power and turning combined with excellent stability make the SB ideal for waveriding too.
The kite relaunches better in light winds than the previous years model.
The build quality is outstanding, Cabrinha have developed cloth with a cloth manufacturer that is specifically made for kites, both in the LE and canopy of the kites. They use different weights of cloth in different areas of the kite to increase durability and to ensure the kites have that crisp new kite performance for as long as possible.
Release date is mid August, and we will not have stocks to sell until late August.

Market Release Date will be 2nd September for Switchblade
looking forward to it,
But really enjoying the new nomad at the moment.![]()
please help.i cant decide 2010 switchy or nomad? i ride 60% strapless surfboard in waves and 40% wakestyle.im leaning towards switchy 12m for a little more grunt.
Thanks for that Steve.
I think I'll demo a Nomad 11m as an alternative to my sb3 12m for use with the 5'5" Naish Fish in 15-20 knots.
I'm getting some sort of tendon strain in the first knuckle of my right hand, from wrenching the sb3 12m around the sky one handed while wave riding.
Something with a little less power and faster turning sounds like the ticket!
Andy
I really enjoyed riding both kites, but the SB won hands down for me-the nomad was light and awesome, riding the 11 felt like a a SB9 from last year, the turing etc was nuts and I had a ball on each meter range I rode. But dam its hard to walk past the SB, I thought last years was pretty good, rated it about top 3 or 4 kites for the year. I obviously havent riden too many others this coming season but I think its come a long way. definately two very different kites, so really you not comparing cheese's. This years SB is the best I riden, easily!

Can you unspin the centre lines on the new IDSX at the bar, or does the swivel work better than the IDS?
Got any pics or details on the new bar set up yet???
I hope they fixed last years balls up in the new models!!
Pearl, the swivel has been improved and un spin's the front lines fine.
Flux, there is pictures up on the Cabrinha Web site now and the new tap out is not fixed but is harder to slide up and down the depower line.
Gotta love spy pics ![]()

) <<< KTM motto
Its about time Cabrinha put a decent graphical design on there kites. Their 10' range sure do look great. Might be worth a change i think +1 cab
Just reading on Kiteforum that the 2010SB price is going to be less than the 2009SB, now that would be a major technical breakthrough.![]()
