I've had the T3 9mtr out now on several occasions it seems to be extremely versatile and not too slow for a full bow style kite. In strong wind it does what i want but if the wind drops off, as it usually does it dosnt start falling out the sky or stalling it just keeps on working. Had it out in less than 10 and more than 25 so far and it still behaved its self wasn't still riding at 10 but my student was (bigger board).
Always welcome to try them out 9mtr & 11mtr demos available.
Have Fun!

No Idea really.
I guess it's the standard for kites that are released after December to not have great sales in Aus.
Take a look around, how many T3's, Rhinos or EVO's have you seen around?
Hey guys I'll hopefully get to demo one of these babies soon, but has anyone rode the 7m T3 yet?
I've got a 9m &13m Rev1 and are looking for a nice 7m to compliment the quiver. I'm on a tight budget after getting a fourby so will be looking at either a 2nd hand 7m rev1 or 7m T3.
Im only interested in a 7m with good depower for those 30+ days and whatever will boost the biggest.
From what I've heard the 7m T3 and 7m rev are similarly matched in the boost department, with the T3 having more float but the rev having more height.
Is the speed of the 2 kites much different?
Hopefully demo soon but 7m demo kites are hard to come by over here in south oz.
Hi Walshd
The T3's are not as fast as Rev's but faster than the TD2. Bit more bottom end from the T3 than the Rev. Ridden T2 7mtr & 5mtr 28 - 35 knots and they boost pretty high, can't say for the Rev 7mtr. The T3 is more stable than the Rev and the T2, good blend of both kites.
Re price. From what we can gather the price has been brought down to help grow the sport and get people into kiting with a top brand, safe, tough and relaible kite cause there are some shocker, no name not so reliable kites around.
Some boys at Goolwa-Middleton Beach SA have a Rev 7mtr, you might ask them for a ride if you catch them. Otherwise am sure the kite shops will help you out.
Have Fun!

Cheers George, thats exactly what I wanted to hear.
I'll try to get a demo of a T3 first, because I'd love to add a bow to my quiver. I rode a 7m rev last year and it was a really nice kite.
Does the 7m T3 have much more topend than the 7m Rev? The slingy website reckons about 5 knots.
I'll probably go a T3 since a brand new one is about as much as a 2nd hand rev.
Thanks,
Walshy
Haven't actually tried the T3 but flew the T2 a few times (9 and 11) and they pulled like a Mac truck, but were well behaved and stable. Very much park and ride... Enjoyed the lower end grunt they offered but bar pressure on the kites I flew was heavy and turning was, well... kind of Mac truck like. If T3 offers the ability to reduce bar pressure and can turn a little faster then it would be a good little package for the money. The question is...can you do both in one mode, or is it one or the other?
Hey guys the T3 is sick, we had a father and son last weekend, riding son 14years and 45 kgs on the 7m rev his dad 85-90kg on the 7T3 the wind form 25knot gusting to 35 and both had an awesome ride..
I rode 9m T3 last year and managed to finish 3rd in Tannum and 1st in mackay on this kite so you can pretty much do anything on it, has more bar pressure then Rev, slower turning speed, but more power in bottom end, so you don't need to fly it aggressively to get power. very stable and so easy to launch it almost does it it self..
plus the below bar safety system is so easy to used..
Oh, and the REV is that little bit to fast for freestyle/wakestyle, well aiming towards wakestyle progression.![]()
ahhh ok aden, thanks for the info.
I was under the impression the rev was one of the best for freestyle?
Im keen on the rev or rebel, just cant make my mind up!
are you a freestyle rider? Personally i've never ridden rebel but wouldnt say its any better than REV, wouldnt really know. even tho the REV is a freeride / surf kite, its even better for freestyle excpet for those little things i didnt like about it, and the rebel is classified as a freeride kite and thats what its best for. dont think ive ever seen a freestyler riding a rebel.
ADEN.![]()
for the last couple of sessions i've been offered to try the T3 out from Adventure Sports Kitesurf Australia (George,) the winds' been really good so I have turned it down everytime incase its not as good as the REV, im definately itching to try the T3 now! AND ITS ALOT ALOT ALOT CHEAPER THAN THE REV!![]()

ADEN, im in the beginner stages at the moment really only kited 2 times. But i will advance quickly once given consistent days of wind
I'll be more interested in riding waves (got a beach 10 min walk) and also freestyle in flat water (river close by)
Hey Aden, yeah Tannum and Mackay are freestyle events.
I rode the 9m t3 as I found the 08 9m rev a little light on the bar as I was doing my passes I was accidentally turning the kite and getting ripped sometimes before getting the handle sometimes after..
The T3 being heavier on the bar made it easy to do these passes. you can edge it slightly and has great shut off when hooked in. After riding the new rev09 with the back lines pulled in I will definetly be riding a rev again as it felt awesome. In the really small sizes like the 7m I would like to try the fuel and see how it feels as well..
I'm 78kg and will be getting lighter as seaon goes on and I get fitter..
Will definetly have a 13m rev an prob 9m or 11m rev in the quiver..
Thanks man,
I also find REV too fast for freestyle/wakestyle,(i think evryone does.)
i'm gonna try it with a smaller bar(cut it down) and see how she rides.
Just try the new one with the attachments moved forward toward the LE and see how you go. It's how I like it
Can't afford the new REV. And I got my 08 REV halfway thru winter so it'l easily last this summer season.
Finally got a chance to ride the T3 9M demo yesterday in 1:1 mode.
Winds were 16-24 knots ESE in Botany Bay, fairly choppy, no tide as I was up near Brighton.
Rode a new Cab Caliber 1.30, with Sync bindings (they keep your feet warm!)
I weigh 77kg
Previously I had tried the kite in 2:1 setup in 24-32knots at Kurnell and totally hated the kite, but after yesterday I realised what I hated was the 2:1 setup. Changing the kite from 2:1 to 1:1 was easy the most time consuming part would be re-threading the lines to join the two ends of the rear line leaders. Reversal would be a cinch but I will not be switching our demo back.
In 1:1 the kite is a dream. I actually had another kite on the beach, one of my favourites, in case I did not like the T3, but I rode the T3 for about 2+ hrs until I was thoroughly cold, water temp is 15ish and air was about the same but the wind chill was about zero.
Care must be taken when rigging the kite 1:1 that you shorten the front lines (trim in approx 10-12 inches of the trim line and cleat it off).
The kite comes set up from the factory 2:1 and when you change the bridle to 1:1 settings, the front lines need to be shortened. I have heard people saying they did not like the way the kite behaved in 1:1, but I am sure it was backstalling because the rear lines were too short.
Anyway once you get the lines/bar trimmed up right this is an amazing kite for $1350 brand new!!
I smashed the kite in repeatedly to test relauch, just could not keep it down, it always ended up on a tip just by pointing the bar at it slightly, then it would quickly move to the edge where it took off easily. Definately a no brainer to relaunch.
Performance is excellent, the kite flies fast and turns medium tight and quickly. Jumps are easy, hang time was impressive and redirecting to a soft landing was simple and could be left to quite late. Took a few dodgy jumps and landings to get the timing right, and I ended up riding most of the session with by hands halfway between the ends of the bar and the middle. I tended to oversteer the kite otherwise.
The new bar is very comfy and felt great even though my hands were a bit numb by the end of the session. Depower is more gradual in 1:1 and not so on/off as the 2:1 setting, depower throw is longer in 1:1 but still fine for my short arms. The colour coding on the bar end and the leaders is easy to see. Additional depower is easily had by edging hard and the kite easily moves more forward in the window. I liked the way it moved back in the window when I rode more downwind to get speed for a jump, because it still had good power and pull, but I could still control power if I got too strong a gust as I was about to jump (it was very choppy, which was making it a bit harder to time a jump well and not catch an edge).
I put a couple of 20cm long pieces of clear tubing over the leaders at the bar ends just to stop the leaders from catching on the bar as easily (happened when I had the kite in 2:1).
A bit of tape will do the same trick, but the tubing looks better.
For jumping I got the best height by edging hard with good board speed and turning the kite back from approx10.30/11, holding the bar in and only redirecting once I could feel myself coming down, landings were butter smooth when I had it timed right. Underloops and and transitions are easy with this kite, you can control the power easily. Bar pressure is light to medium, not as light as I expected and it has a very direct feel. There are only 2 pulleys on each side of the kite and the bridle is very short, although I did manage to get a line over the front in one crash in 2:1.
By working the rear lines I was able to get that line off the kite and relaunch though, which impressed me. I like the compact bridle layout.
I don't think there will be a better value for money kite on the market this season and I think it will cause a lot of ripples in the industry. Build quality is typical Slingshot and they have definitely not cut any corners.
The bar comes with the 700lb front lines CSS system, kite is one pump, all seams are taped and sewn with wide flat seams. Bag is same as last year, and carries a board better than any other bag on the market. Pump is the alloy shaft big one (same as most other brands) and comes with a guage.

Goodwinds
