Has anyone put bindings on one of these boards? I've already got one with the standard inserts and was going to try a few different pairs of bindings to see if they fit.
Before I get too carried away I thought i'd ask to save some time in looking/modifying existing bindings!
129 is really short for bindings. unless you are tiny i would get a bigger board. you might want to check the width too, make sure it is wide enough to take the binding plate without hanging over the rails.
slingy bindings will obviously fit the board but unions/ultras should also fit, they have slotted holes in the base plate
cheers, yeh basically i'd just like to give the bindings a go and see the difference, so it's not worth buying a bigger board at this stage.. This is just a bit of a brainstorm, the board is pretty wide so i think that'd be ok.
As far as length goes i guess i'll have to wing it
. With the extra weight etc considered I can see that a 132 with bindings might equate to a 129 with pads. Can anyone provide feedback on this?
i think you need at least a 135/138 with bindings to feel the same as a 129 with straps. its not just the weight, its also extra area taken up by the base plate. plus you have so much more edging ability and can use more of the board's surface area to pop
why don't you try someone else's board with bindings to get the feel of it?
if you ride a board that's too short you won't get the proper feel of riding in boots.
Hey guuys there were a limited no of these boards done with the slingshot binding inserts in them. As well as standard footstrap inserts..
We are chasing more, if you are interested please talk to your local shop and get them to let us know.. I'm not sure if we'll see more but if we have the interest we may see them..
dude the 129 is a bit small but give it a crack and see how it feels.. i recently changed to bindings aswell and rode a 134 for most of the time... u really do need a bigger board to experience bindings properly and you should ride them for a couple of sessions to get used to the feel for them, its not really something u can just step into and instantly ride good in, it takes a couple hours to re adjust ur style but its fully worth it dude never looked back ay! try someone elses board if you can hey but if u cant just chuck some boots on the lunacy and give it a whirl.. make sure ur well lit the first time u try them and u wont regret it!
On sunday there was some decent wind so after a while I got out my 136 LF Press with Ronix Scouts on it. It instantly felt so much better!
The wind had started to die off so staying up wind started to become an issue with the press.
But as for bindings, definately worth it, much easier to get in and out of the boots while flying the kite than I expected.
I'm very tempted to get a board with a little less rocker I can put my scouts on, then just use the press when it's 25kn.
Bindings (The real ones not the backless bull****) are the only way to ride a twin tip IMHO. And I cant wait for my 136 lunacy with the inserts!!!!
