Rider: 62kg, Advanced
Style: Freestyle/Wake
Weather: 15-17 knots

I flew of my new 11m Fuel yesterday in decent winds. I was suprised by the amount of depower the kite had for a C kite. The kite unhooked realy well and pulls really consistantly throughout kiteloops. It's an awsome kite for powered unhooked riding.

The kite only came as a 4 line set up but the kite has an attachment point for a fifth line. Since the kite is only 4 line the only way that I was able to relaunch it was either to reverse launch or run towards it to roll it onto it's back.

The construction looks realy good and it was great to fly.

rider: 80kg Advanced I hope :-)
Board 132 lunacy
Conditions over two rides, first day solid 20knots waves and rough water
day two 15 knots small waves little chop..
All right 11m fuel 2009..
I'm loving c's again..
For starters I launched it off the beach as I would a rev, straight down wind pulled an outside line an slowly walked towards it and it launched quick an easy I was really surprised. I rode it four line as it comes. In 20 knots kite was so stable and easy to do unhooked tricks grabs without the kite moving round.. Found the bar pressure light in sheeting but, heavy ish for steering, but it's what I like about C's. Once you apply some pressure and turn it response's really nicely. I didn't kite loop it as had heaps of grunt and didn't want to get flogged first ride. Surprised I cranked upwind really easily as if I were on a rev..I threw down some passes and missed a few, kite sat on the edge of window just waiting to be launched 3 of 4 times the other was straigh down wind on nose, I pulled an outside line let myself float towrds it with legs bent and board still on it came up an around and launched. To land it I used the safety and worked fine similar to rev..
Second day well it was light and I honestly thought I was wasting my time rigging it up.. But wanted to check the light wind power. Man it has some bottom end, weird though I didn't feel like I had much power. However I cranked up wind with out worry and was getting nice lfit with feeling like I had up much power.. I threw some passes down buit landed them all so didn't have to worry about relaunching it at all today..
All in all I'm stoked, Not sure about the top end as It has range but I don't think it will depower as much as the rev. Hmm
Very sweet kite

Hi Dave,

Do you think low end is better than '07 & '08 fuels? I'm thinking of going for a 13 + 9 combo and changing to the 132 lunacy (riding 129 now with 15m, 11m & 9m fuels).

Want to go back to 2 kites. I'm 75kg

Cheers,
James

p.s. Lincoln's red & black Fuels look sick

I didn't ride last years fuel but it definetly has more then the 07, as I rode both back, plus it hammers up wind in light conditions, you don't have to be powered to crack up wind..
Don't know but would assume 13m should be the same, as Andy Boss rode it OS and came back stoked with the light wind performance of the kite..

Hey Axis/James, did you decide on the 13/9 combo? I am similar size to you and think I may do that too but from some of the reviews it seems like an 11/7 combo could work also. I havent bought fuels before though. The published ranges say the 9 works in 20-30knots, so Im concerned about the quiver topping out at 30.

Hi "O"

Have decided on 13 + 9 but don't have them yet. For 4 years I rode 15 + 11 combo and managed (although in '08 got the 9). I like riding powered and have had the '08 9m out in gusts over 30 but love it in 20-25. I do have a bar with 20m lines I can break out though.

The 11m won't get me out on those seabreezes up to 15 knots - having had Fuel 11m before I need something bigger. I am not worried about having 9m as my smallest in Melb. If I was in WA it would be different.

Will let you know when I get them.

James
