My Comments:
The first difference you notice from 08-09 is the bag. It comes in a cool new whitish colour, looks sick!
The second difference is that this year, the Evo comes with a 5th Element bar as standard, which is great for safety, and also those riders that want the kite to be a bit more freestyle orientated.
The kite has the usual North build quality, with plenty of Dacron on the trailing edges to get keep it strong. And the new graphics are very similar to the other 09 kites, which is great, because these kites look extremely sexy, a big improvement on the 08 model. Once again the Evo is not one-pump, which makes it simpler to build and therefore cheaper.
In the air it feels fantastic, smoother power delivery than last year. I had it out for about an hour in 15-20 knots. Un-hooking feels much nicer than last year, they have gone more towards the Delta-C shape this year. Raleys and S-bends (which is all i can do
) are easy, the kite is not super sensitive un-hooked. It still boosts massive, and has sweet sweet kiteloops
. Heaps of fun, and nice and grunty, still with big boosts, great hangtime, nice un-hooking ability and sweet kiteloops.
If you're curious, come down and try it 7 days a week at our demo centre in Safety Bay right on the beach, along with the whole North and F-one and Star range.
Cheers,
Michael
