My Comments:
Well,
Beginning of summer brings wind and nice weather.
I demo'ed this kite and it was possibly the most user friendly kite ever.
The conditions wernt the best it was a bit gusty but still alright.
I was riding a twin tip and a surf board
1) First up, The build quality was great. It was excellent to see Naish produce such a high quality product. The octopus set up is pretty good except you have to close all the valves. The really were no loose ends on this kite
2) The set up.. The bar is simple and rigging is easy. The bar is super comfy and nice and soft. I didnt like the way the safety line was attached to the chicken loop as well as the de-power strap takes a bit of gettin used to. The depower strap was intergrated into the push away release system. This means it was sometimes hard to release and harder to lock. You have to get use to the motion then its fine.
3) Self launch / land... Definatly the easiest kite to land and launch by yourself. To self land pull the wingtip a bit till the kite fills. And it will flip up on the spot and launch from the side of the window.. None of this kite having to be at the bottom of the window.. She went striaght up with no dramas. Self landing was easy as just pull on your safety line.. you can set up your safety line to either the left or right front lines. so if your landing the same side all the time set it up for the top line.. All you have to do is the usual pull the line and she will go down.
4) Flying.. Well what a super stable kite. She flew where you wanted it. The bar pressure was good. You needed to really fly this kite to get her moving though. This kite would be excellent for a beginner. The cult was stable no matter what happened.. There was no flatter or flapping, the kite had a mellow smooth pull. Nothing to intense. She handled the gusts but still had heaps of power when you watned it.
5) Summary - This is the most stable kite around. I would highly reccomend this kite to anyone that wants to start kiteboarding, beginer, experienced and wanting something mellow, or a wave rider. This kite does not yank you around to much and is amazing for surfing. This kite is super user friendly and a mellow kite to fly.
Overall performance 7/10
Top work naish. This kite may look funny but boy does it fly, it is great
Cheers, Al
Very smooth kite, i've ridden the 7.5m, 10.5m and 12m. Very simple kite to use, light bar pressure and possibly the best bar on the market to date.
Easy easy easy is all i can say about the cult 09. Excellent build quality as well!
XX angie
Had a couple of rides on our demo 12m now and here are the changes I have noticed from last years kite-
Easier and faster relaunch
Jumps higher and hangs more
Improved bar and grip
The 12m turns much faster than last year
Sounds very cliche I know but these are the actual changes from last year.
If you are after some yank from your kiteloops though the Helix ot Torch would be more suited.
