Thanks for the reply... I love my Comp Aura board, it's so responsive, carves great and has massive pop. Please let us know how the '09's will be different when you can and if you have any pics to share.

We have 100 Havocs arriving in a week. Seeing you are in the UK, you need to contact your local LF's distributor.

ok, pics uploaded! - http://www.surfconnect.com/sc/html/Shop/kiting/kites/Havoc09pics.htm

Review so far:

Great design
Great re-enforcement
One way valve - tops!
Relaunches even easier than the 08 HiFis
More lower end power, making it feel like a Havoc!

Also tested the 16m Session today in like 6-7kts-

Best graphics to date
Turns faster than 08 Sessions - very impressed
Loads of lower end grunt
Much more responsive than 08

Great kite!

i see an other 5th line setup, looks stabel!

Padi thanks man! great pics!

How is the Competition version and do you have some pics of it?
Did the bar changed? and what is the difference with the normal hifi?
Is it possible to ride the LF kites without the 5th line this year? or still 5th line for the stability?

Like to hear every detail of the LF kites, i love it!

Thnx to Padi!

Re: HIFi 09 -

Yes, it is more stable, has more lower end power than the 08 version. We tried to play with the 5th line, and were on the maximum setting already. Next try we will use extension and see how kite flies with longer 5th.

Both HiFi and Session this year have one way valves.

Havent got the Comp in yet, hopefully soon!

All LF retailers should have samples in store. Contact yours to give it a go.

The HiFi Comp is a limited edition full on competition version. Super fast turning and kiteloop machine.

Any information on the 2009 Havocs? Will they have one way valves too? How do you deflate the kite?

All the Havoc samples we have does not have one way valves, but all the HiFis & Sessions do. Whether the production stock would have is to be seen. They should be in anytime now.

I thought the HI-FI was ment to be a kite looping freestyle machine anyway?
If they have made a competition version, which turns faster, jumps bigger etc etc, then why would anyone want to buy the normal HI FI?
Im just curious...

the fact is:

the 08 hifi was a pretty sick machine, but unfortunately it was to aggressive for some people so they decided to make a different type of hifi:

normal 09 HiFi: a less aggressive machine but still freestyle aimed!
Competition 09 HiFi: a really aggressive mean machine that pops harder, does megaloops faster and bigger and has more power than the normal hifi.

(source: LF Europe)
(correct me if i told it a bit wrong)

Havocs arrived! All sizes available. Contact your local store to purchase.

Mayhem: Yes there is a deflate valve for deflation.
BlueIce: The HiFi Comp will be a limited edition, and more expensive.

Ok, well ive been kitesurfing for nearly 3 yrs now and have a repitoir of tricks under my belt but since i broke my ribs (twice) doing back loop kite loops, ive lost loads of confidence doing any kite loops what so ever!
Ive recently managed to free my mind of this mental block and am wanting a kite that i feel at home with kite looping and un hooking!

I have flown the Havoc's and the HiFi's recently and i like them both for different reasons though.
I have just bought the 12m Havoc '08' knowing full well that the '09's will be out in the UK september time but ive bought this kite for the low winds and for when im using bindings as this kite gives a constant pull which is great!

As for the HiFi, i much prefered looping the HiFi over the Havoc as i just felt safer and there was a constant smooth pull all the way through the loop. This gave me more confidence over the Havoc due the the Havoc generating so much power!

I have noticed though that the HiFi really doesnt like the gusts and in the 2 times ive flown her, 3 times ive stood on the beach with the kite at 12 oclock and the kite has just fell out of the sky! (not good)

What differences will the normal HiFi and the Comp HiFi of '09' have over the '08' HiFi?
If there isnt much thats been changed, then ill buy the '08' HiFi's and be done with it

Many thanks anyhow...

Your findings is bang on BlueIce. The Havoc gives much more grunt than the HiFi but the HiFi is a bit more versatile. I can get going on the Havoc well before the HiFi in the same wind strength.

As for the HiFi falling out of the sky, what setting have you got the 5th line set on? Too much tension will pull the front down, resulting the kite falling out of the sky, as all 5 lines kite do.

The 09 HiFi has a bit more grunt than the 08, better built all round, slight change in the bridle setup. Other findings all posted in this thread by various people, please read so you get a comprehensive view. As the 09 gear comes out, you might find some good bargains on the 08 range too! Good luck!

never had my hifi fall out of sky.. for best performance unhooked IMO on the hifi i put the 5th on slackest setting, lots more power in the turns and the loops have a bit more grunt too. middle knot is good for the days when its too windy to unhook.
