Rider: 75kg
Level: Advanced
Style: Wake, Freestyle
Weather: 12-25 knots
Build Quality: 10/10
Satisfaction: 9/10
Disclosure: Team rider

My Comments:

The JN Mr F is a brand new design from JN designed as an all-round kite. The design is "swept back" which is basically a delta C design. I have been using the Mr F to teach with and really good for beginners to advanced riders. The kite is really powerful low end yet has the depower to handle the high winds too.

The build quality is amazing, to be honest not many kites are made poorly now!

The bar is simple and uncluttered. Simple cleat de-power and push away QR.

The Mr F flies really well and there is just enough bar pressure to give you the right amount of feedback. The kite was stable in the low winds and forgiving in the gusts. The kite jumped well with nice high floaty jumps. Unhooked Mr F handled like a C kite, powerful with plenty of pop.

Main Features:

Optional 4 or 5 line setup
Simple bridle construction
Stitched in design
Single inflation
Light and durable Teijin sail cloth
Kevlar bumpers
5 strut construction
Less bar pressure

I took the mr f.... 8m for a ride on friday night when tino was in whyalla, riding the bandit dos this year I found it fairly easy to get used to and after 15mins didnt want to take it back to the beach. I loved the simplicity of the bar, the bar presure was a little lighter than the bandit more like the ss rev which makes it sort of best of both worlds, the water relaunch was good probaly quicker than the bandit as it was able to hot launch if you wanted yes I did get it wet. didnt move in the air like i thought it would when doing rolls due to the light bar feel just stayed there which is good. jumps probably werent as good as the bandit dos but mind you i just got off my 12m in 30kts made it hard to compare would love to give the mr f..... 12m a go. I thought it wasnt as agressive as the bandit in regards to instant grunt which can put people off the bandits but you can still get it out of the kite if you want just feels a bit smoother. One pump what else could make it any better looking forward to Martin coming down next time to give it a nother crack.

One last thing I was watching martin self launch this kite he just set it up walked across the wind pulled his bar and the kite rolled on to its side and took off... I thought what the mr F...........

Tino have you got any info on price and how long to get delivery package deals with board etc. may have some interest localy.

Bar pressure is more than an 08 9m rev.

If the production kite is the same as the prototype shown here, then the bar pressure and turning speed can be adjusted since the tips of the kite have optional attachment points to adjust the rear Y bridle.

The kite was setup with the slower setting, hence I thought it was a bit slow coming off the rev.
You spinny, flippy boys will like that tho.

It jumps alright too.

Bar setup was sweet, and for unhooking the chicken loop locks into the bar so re-hooking would be easier.

External Onepump like slingy and the bridle is nice and compact.

So if you want a bandit with onepump, this kite would be a good option.

Hey waxman,

Might have a 10.0m and 12.0m next time I'm in Whyalla. The way I launched my kite is pretty common with most brands. Give it ago on the Dos.....

KBM reviewed the 2008 Prima Donna2 highly. The 2009 is even better.

Thanks KBM.
