Hi;

i have the chance to buy a 16m Havoc 2009 brand new for 500$ and was wondering if at 170lbs it would make a good ligt wind kite. It is 16m but sometimes big kites are good for heavy people in decent wind but not very hot in really light wind.

So I would like to know if it has a tendency to backstall and also is the speed decent for a 16m. Also how much pressure is on the bar; heavy light; really light.

Any feedback would be appreciated since I will probably make the move this week-end.

I already have a 7.5 Kahoona, waroo9m 2010 and a CAB SB 12m 2009.

Thank you

Jules

A number of our local kiters use this as their light wind kite. Pair up with a light wind board these guys get the most kiting times.

Backstalling is not often a problem with the kite, but caused by either too much back lines (i.e. setup too short), or more often the case, the bar is pulled too far in.

Bar pressure is medium. 16 being a large size kite it turns like a 16m kite - slow but will get you riding when most people are standing on the beach. The Havoc is very well built and durable, lots of grunt.

$500 is dead cheap, get it or msg me. I'll buy for $500 ;)

I would not buy a kite just because it's cheap.
CAB 12 m is all you need for light wind days.
Good luck.

Obviously it's not otherwise he wouldn't be asking?

Can't comment about the Havoc but there's nothing better than being fully powered when everyone else is schlogging or just cruising.

I have just sold my 12m 09 Hovoc after getting a leak (No big deal) to find out it only had a 60 day warrantee where most others have 12 months. I found it to be slow and clumsy and stalled alot in light winds. I would say a 12m swichblade would do the trick just nicely. That is what i opted for and couldnt be happier.
